Only 6 episodes, but so was The Corner, and that was brilliant. I haven't seen any of David Simon's work since watching the first series of Treme years ago. I hope he hasn't lost it, but his best work has been set in Baltimore so fingers crossed.

Show Me A Hero (set in Yonkers) was excellent, as I recall, and that was a six-parter as well.

The Deuce was excellent.

Ok, this show is great and Jon Bernthal is a gem.

Even though I love HBO and have loved HBO for 20 years, I have to say that NETFLIX is superior when it comes to releasing episodes. I mean wtf, whats the point of having to wait seven days for the next episode?

I can't wait to watch this. Might wait til a few more episodes are out though, so I can binge it on a weekend :D

Yup, that's certainly my plan right now. The one episode per week model has to go, especially when its on a subscription service like HBO. I can understand that normal networks follow the old model because of ad revenues, but that's not the case when it comes to subscription services.

Geektown showing this as undated but June for Sky - they do seem pretty slack with some of the HBO stuff, especially Simon's work, after the success of the Wire you'd think they'd be keen to air it but this, Treme, the porno one all were on a long time after the US airing.

First episode was excellent, a little hard to follow at times with the two timelines and multiple plots. Jon Bernthal was excellent and it was nice to see some old faces from The Wire again.

I'm going to disagree with a few posters above, I really like getting one episode a week. Having a new episode of Succession or Euphoria or Peacemaker or whatever every week makes the shows even better.

I think they overdid it on the casting. It felt like I was watching a shot set in a parallel Wire universe, with almost every scene featuring someone reused. Maybe that was intentional but it felt a little lazy rather than a some deliberate homage. It just took me out of what was otherwise an amazing first episode.
