I'm not delaying Horizon. I've booked the Friday and Monday off work to try and get it finished before Tuesday.

I finally beat Sean today, but have mostly been using the right trigger dodge, rather than the avoid which I can't get the timing for as yet. I think I need to spend some more time on it as I feel like I'm doing pretty well in the other aspects of the game.

 

So, SO good though. And I am loving just re-playing the levels as the combat is so satisfying.

Level 3 boss seemed so daunting at first but now I can beat her relatively easily. It helps that her second phase is a breeze and

Honestly, this month has been just obscene. I have only played Sifu, and delaying some other titles as I cannot jump between them and Elden Ring. Never known anything like it. I know people usually like the Christmas period, but outside of 2019 (MW and Jedi Fallen Order), all other winter months have had nothing on this month. What a time to be alive!

Yeah, it's great. Horizon, Elden Ring and maybe Ghostwire Tokyo have to be very good to beat this as my current GotY though.

I played this until 4am, lol. Went to bed with the missus but couldn’t sleep. 
 

I can finally get all the way to the drug lab fight without dying in Squats. Judicious use of sweep kick, and learning where all the weapons are lol

Typical, I spend the last couple of nights making this guide for THOSE GUYS and then apparently the patch today has made Disciples and Sean a bit easier, lol!! 

 

Hope some still find it useful, please share it about if you know anyone who may benefit, I'm quite pleased with how it came out!

Hehe, I don't think it's that huge a nerf (reddit is in tears, lol). They have allegedly made Disciples and Sean do their annoying back jumps less frequently, have toned down damage on some their attacks, and have reduced Disciple aggression when other enemies present. 

 

All pretty nice changes imo, you'll still need to learn how to do them, you just have more chances to fuck up before dying, and it's slightly easier to counter attack.

Have just tested patched version - it's really not that different!!  So no shame for those who clear it after this point. 

 

Best bit was Sean doesn't do the stupid jumping away as much.

Up to the third boss now and it's really clicked. Absolutely monstering my way through the first and second stages in prep for another bout with the third boos. Some absolutely gorgeous visuals throughout the museum too, the game has had the hand of a very talented art director at the helm.

It really does click. Some of the best advice I can give it’s to stick at it and the more you play the better you get.

 

I remember early on thinking the lvl 2 boss was ridiculous but now I can do him barely taking a hit and actually bullying him quite a lot by standing in his face and challenging him to hit me.

 

If you stick at it, it really gives back with satisfaction.

Beat Sean at 24 now and got to the third boss, so have the shortcut unlocked

 

Managed to get to her second phase first try, but need to learn her patterns now

A nice moment from when I was capturing footage for the guide.. Now, I'm not sure if this was actually what happened here, but it certainly FELT like I did two double parries in a row:

I remapped the right trigger dodge to bumper, I use it way more than chucking weapons and it feels more responsive, like having block on the left bumper by default.
