Never come across that actually! I used the text guide, but I don’t remember that being mentioned.

My RP3 was only just here when it suddenly became an early 00s FIFA machine for my 12 year old. Managed to get him onto PES at least so taking it as a win.
watusi
I kinda hated the RP3 when I first got it. It was difficult to set up and configure and lots of tweaks needed. Basically it was a pain in the arse. Now it’s all done and dusted I really really like it. It’s well made, the screen is really good, its fast and snappy and the android OS means that there’s a load of other fun stuff still waiting in the wings. I’ve stuck with daijasho / RetroArch as a front end for Arcade, DC, NES, NGP and a few others and using standalone for GB/GBA/SNES/MD. The main reason is that Daijasho doesn’t support browsing by folders (that i can see) and I like a more simple organised structure like the Mister FPGA provides. Hacks/home brew/roms sorted by region etc.
bradigor
I really need to sort out bezels next. Has anyone else done them in RP3+

The Miyoo is like a cool little novelty device, but it wouldn’t want one as my only handheld. Curious, I do worry it's too small to actually enjoy playing something on it. I really want quality controls too. But for now I want a dedicated 4:3 vertical retron handheld... Will check out your two recommendations. I love the Miyoo but its only really good for systems which only need the face buttons IMO. the back buttons on the RG353V work really well. There is also this from Anbernic: https://anbernic.com/collections/handheld-game-console/products/rg35xx but it seems an odd thing and its not really much different size wise from RG353V https://retrosizer.com/?miyoo-mini:269,7,0&rg-351v:4,4,0&rg-353v:101,6,0&rg-35xx:186,7,0 (i love this site)
bradigor
Ok, not going to mess with the RP3+ frontends for now... Pegasus is part of emudeck so will just run that when it comes out. https://www.pegasus-installer.com/

This all started because Google suggested a RG35 video in my feed... I watched and dismissed it, not quite right ... I'm slightly torn between the two V options not really bothered by having dual analogues, for me if that's what you are after go for a horizontal machine. I like the game retro vibe of the 51V looks like it might be the winner ... Will it run Christmas Nights that only needs one analogue stick;) black gives it an analogue pocket vibe. Thanks, once again muckers to the rescue

bradigor
Here is a question. A game like Tetris on Gameboy can be turned two player with a link cable on original hardware. Is it possible to link (eg) an Anbernic RG353v with a RP3+ both running Tetris at the same time? Or is that beyond the limitations right now? I don't think it's possible to link any handhelds together and do this. Never mind on different machines. But, I think you can do it locally on a PC with two instances of the same emulator. Google that for VisualBoyAdvance if you want to try it.

bradigor
Might change from Daijisho as it doesn't seem to like m3u for my PSX multi disc games. Can't find any option to tell it to ignore all other file extensions on a certain platform and only display m3u. Tempted to make use of my Launchbox see if that works better for me. But you'd probably still have the problem where you have a mix of m3u and single disc games in there like I do. It really needs a "do not use sub-directory" option for me to clean it up

On the page for the platform, there is a little pencil in the bottom right opens some settings to edit. Scroll down for "Accepted filename regex" and there should already be some weird looking symbols in there to edit. Probably need to change the .*$ at the end to .m3u
Paulando
Yeah, I had the same issue with my PS1 m3us. I just re-downloaded them as CHDs from Roms Megathread and binned them all off. The multi-disc games show up separately, but I solved that by only downloading disc 1 for each them because I’m not going to fucking play them anyway

Has to delete the path to the ROMs folder for PS1 to get rid of the files already there but now it only used my m3u which is great.
watusi
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is now free on android if you have netflix. This says its supported on RP3+ but when i try to install it fails with an error. Anyone had success with this? EDIT : Turns out i was low on space on the internal storage. sega_kid
I picked up an RG505, got it just before the sale ended on Droix, it's quite an upgrade to my last handheld, the Odroid Go Advance black, which I picked up way back during the start of lockdown. Outrun 2006 on PPSSPP looks and plays beautifully with the resolution bumped up, I've even had success running Outrun 2 SP via the PS2 emulator, very impressed! Meatball
My RP3+ has arrived also. So far I've put Retroarch on it but not gone through configuring it all yet as it looks a bit much for the moment. I'll have more of a go on my next days off. At the present I've just got Redream and PPSSPP on there off the Play Store. Redream seems fine, I've played a bit of Crazy Taxi and Virtua Tennis no problem. I'm having an issue with PPSSPP on it though. The games load up ok and otherwise seem fine except it doesn't seem to be recognising my left analog stick properly. As I said it's fine playing games in Redream and if I go into the Android settings gamepad test bit it shows the left stick being moved as I wiggle it around so I know the stick is OK, but in PPSSPP it's being wonky. It seems like it's thinking the left stick is somehow associated with the touch screen. Like in the PPSSPP control mapping menu I can push the stick up or down for a second and it'll move what's showing on the screen in relation like if I swiped up/down on it with my finger. If I go through the buttons list remapping them I can do all the others, but when I get to left analog and press that left/right/up/down it doesn't register me doing it. Any ideas? watusi
Too might have virtual mouse mode in. I think it’s l3+r3 for three seconds to switch. or you can turn it off in settings under handheld > input I think

Turned it on to see what it does if it makes a difference and now have the little mouse pointer on screen what I can move round with the left stick. Stops me being able to flip up/down the PPSSPP menus screen with the left stick having that on, but still won't let me remap the left stick correctly to it. Cheers though. watusi
Have you installed button mapper? That causes issues with some software. I ended up uninstalling it.
