I'd wager they're absolutely going to redo the older, more popular titles for it. The controllers wouldn't work with backwards compatibility, and presumably the camera and all the other gumph needs to be taken into account.

100%. I hope that Hitman 3 gets retooled for the new system. It was a bit too clunky for me in VR before.

Looking forward to seeing what the launch slate looks like. It's got to be launching with a new Astrobot game and I wouldn't complain if there was a Blood & Truth sequel or another shooter of that calibre.

Surely also Half-Life Alyx, an update for No Man's Sky, and maybe (I can dream) Rez Infinite 2!

I'm going for a silly prediction.

-The PS5 version of GT7 gets patched to offer day one support for PSVR2 (not the silly prediction)

-GT7 for PC gets launched on the same day as PSVR2. Its the first game to include full PC support for PSVR2. It also requires the use of the PSN for PC launcher which lets them offer crossplay with PS5 (there we go)

You really need to be able to do everything you can currently do in GT7, in VR. Not some sectioned off bullshit demo like last time. I want to race my Monday chums in VR!

If they can do that.. oh boy. Take my money now!!! It would be epic.

I'd definitely have a go if GT7 was fully in VR.

I'm a massive VR fan, and *loved* PSVR. Funnily enough it was exactly that VR teaser in GT Sport which prompted me to switch from console gaming over to PC gaming where us dirty ACC racers do exactly what you describe, and it is indeed epic :)

If PSVR2 and it's games are any good, I'm pretty sure I'll get a PS5 and start console gaming again along side PC.

I wouldn't be surprised to see PSVR2 supporting PC.

Yeah what with their recent ports, more support for resolutions favoured by monitors and the suggestion of some sort of PC launcher (with any luck this isn't going to happen) I would be very surprised if psvr2 didn't come out on pc. Outside of all of those other 'moves' into pc, it would also just make sense in regards to bigger market and the fact VR has done well on pc in general.

I'm not sure if there will be official PC support or not. The issue is the headset likely won't be priced to make a profit by itself, so someone buying one for PC use is basically a loss for Sony.

However, if they're looking to release their VR output on PC then obviously it makes more sense to help grow that market. This seems fairly likely to me as the VR market is relatively small but willing to spend, so it seems logical extension of Sony's PC strategy. That said, my guess is that official PC support would come at a later date once any stock issues have been addressed and they have some decent projections for the console VR market.

Whatever the case, I'm sure someone will figure out how to make the hardware work on PC. Some people got the original PSVR working and that wasn't an all-in-one with a single, standard connector.

I thgink they mostly want to grow their software. Hence most of their games coming out for PC too. We'll have to wait and see, but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

  • 3 weeks later...

Looks decent in the previews but having had a Quest for a short while cable free is a bit of a game changer, ive gone from this being an insta-buy to it needing to have an Astrobot or something stand out exclusive to tempt me back onboard.

GT7 VR is the mega hope but strangely quiet on it given how front and central it as for the PS5 release.

Just want to be able to put my order in.

Yeah I'm thinking RUSH BUY like all new stuff.. which of course I'll miss the shout for and then evidently have to then wait 1-2 years to actually have one. Not a major world problem but 🙄

Jesus that guy guy must have been hot wearing all that gear, including a mask!

A shame there’s no built in sound/headphones, and the controllers seem lacking compared to Valve’s, but it’s still a step up from using Move controllers.

I imagine RE8 is an incredible experience on it, and if they get Alyx for it then I’m tempted, even though I have suffered from quite bad VR sickness in the past.
