PSVR2 - out now!

Put on Synth Riders for a Saturday night VR rave up tonight (yes, I am that cool) and its soo good when you get in the zone. I tried a load of songs on hard and think I actually prefer that to normal as you a really have to move to the music. I haven’t heard of most of the songs but there are some real bangers and the charting is brilliant.

I also downloaded a few of the experience tracks; the muse one was great but the league of legends and Lindsay Sterling ones were just a bit dull. I’ll stick to the regular tunes going forward.

one thing I haven’t cracked is the scoring, checking a few people on here I am often around half, I think I need to improve hitting the orbs in the centre as I only get about 30% perfect.

I caved and bought the VR2 last week, getting the Horizon bundle (as it was the only version in stock anywhere). Really impressed with the kit for its price, I actually prefer it to the (much) more expensive kit I have for the PC.

Could anyone recommend me a good charging dock for the vr2 controllers? I'm really fed up with the short battery life in all the Sony controllers and I've cables all over my man cave just to keep things alive. Does anyone know if theres a universal dock which can handle the normal controllers as well as the vr ones? That'd be sweet.

I have the official Sony one and it works well. Lining up the controllers can be a bit fiddly to start with, but once they're there they charge just fine, and the product looks nice.

There are also quite a few third party ones available, but I haven't looked at any of these as I pre-ordered the official one when buying the Horizon bundle!

Do you have GT7, Pavlov and Resident Evil Village? Those are probably the stand out games in terms of showing off the system, although Synth Riders and Moss 1 & 2 are both superb.

Thanks for this, bud. I have Pavlov and RE Village but not GT7 (yet). I tend to get bored with driving sims but I will be getting GT7 for the VR experience alone.

I also bought Pistol Whip, REZ upgrade and Synth Riders,

What's that dongle in the picture? I never saw any dongle in the box my VR kit came in. Please tell me I haven't thrown out something essential....

Isn’t it the little magnetic charging doo dahs that go in the usb c slot of the controllers?

They come with the charging dock and plug into the controllers so you don’t have to plug anything in when they rest on the charger. There’s some pins in the charging station that get pushed down by exposed pads on the dongle. You leave the dongle in the controller so it’s a one time installation. ( unless you want to take them out for any reason)

Yes, luckily as others have said, these tiny little dongles come with the charging station and go into the controller ports to allow connection. You can leave them in there. You haven't thrown anything away, phew!

You have made good life choices. 😁

We should arrange another Pavlov session, everyone!

No word on Alyx.  The Asobi team have been quiet since the launch of Playroom for PS5 so singers crossed they have been working on a follow up to Astrobot rescue mission for PSVR 2

Are there any big games left coming out for this? I really wish they had secured HL: Alyx.

Beat Sabre amogst others.  Could do with some more exclusives though.

No, every game that will ever be released on it has released in the first month.

Except Walkabout Golf

HL: Alyx, I'm talking to you.

There are actually a lot of games coming but I don't know about big. Medievil VR could be great, but that was a buggy mess when it was originally realeased so I'm not sure about that one.
Of the less talked about games I'm looking forward to Ultrawings 2 which seems to be heavily inspired by Pilot Wings with lots of varied stuff to do in and around flying machines.

Alien Isolation VR should also be a great VR experience.

Here's a video featuring quite a few upcoming games:

Unfortunately that doesn’t exist (or, at least, a port hasn’t been announced). Do you mean the new Aliens game by Survios?

Pavlov 8:30pm tomorrow - the wife is out so I will be setting up a lobby for a couple of hours, all welcome, the skill level will be low but hopefully the laughs high.

PSN ID: Tobert1979, I normally leave the lobby open to fill spaces so message me if you can’t get in, and I will kick a random and send you an invite
