It's especially dubious given it's framed as Sony buying the publishing rights, which doesn't make any sense. That said, I do think Alyx will come to PSVR2 as it's a sensible move for all involved. The only reason I wouldn't consider it a sure thing is because it's Valve, who will leave money on the table if they feel like it. Alyx would make sense if that means Sony would be porting their own PSVR2 titles to Index et al, just like they're doing with PS4/5 titles at the moment. VR is too small a market currently, so adding a couple of more users/games on both sides would be peachy for all.
b00dles
I'd be surprised if they didn't get alyx on psvr2, Sony will want it and surely valve aren't going to sell any more copies of it or their vr solution to customers of psvr2. Not to mention the moves Sony are making with pc releases like sackboy, returnal, God of war and so on. It will also be a "killer app" for psvr2 unless they've really been cooking up something very secret. Astrobot is great but certain parts of the market will be swayed more by a "shooting game" already pretty famous from pc/ makers of half life and portal etc, than a "robot platformer" even if it's amazing and the first is one of the most joyous games ever. Pre-orders will begin on November 15, and players may begin to register for pre-orders starting today. Last sentence is very confusing, there doesn't seem to be any store presence at all for the PSVR2 yet.
Cyhwuhx
600 euros, no BC with PSVR1, and a not-too-enticing set of launch games. Yeah, this is fine... [edit] Also:

Uncle Mike
£550 feels like a lot of money to be asking. I can't see this being massively popular at launch? Maybe that's OK if they're only just getting to the point where they're making enough PS5s? Jeez.
Cyhwuhx
The stupid thing is, if this would've meant I could play "PSVR Pro" boosted versions of Rez Infinite and Tetris Effect, I'd have probably pre-ordered. But starting from scratch... *inhales sharply through teeth*

SuperFamiTom
C’mon guys. You can be surprised at the price, this is Sony we’re talking about. Regardless, I’m out. I was never really in as I don’t find VR games particularly compelling but it’s way outside of any kind of “Ah fuck it” temptation price range. Clipper
in the gaming world of £1500+ gfx cards I suppose we are at the point where a VR headset that was 350 last gen is 550 this gen. I'm out , I will keep my psvr and my Quest but the new tech is too pricy for me (especially as I dont have a PS5 yet so I'll have to pay over a grand)
geldra
Yeah, I’m out too. If HL:Alyx comes out on it I’ll maybe revise that. But I’m in no rush. Haven’t touched my OG headset for ages so…. lack of BC is as much of a killer as the price.
SuperFamiTom
The thing is that while the price is high along with it comes a very reasonable chance that it’s going to be a failure and it’ll play host to very few decent titles over its life span. £530 is high for a console too and £1600 is extremely high for a GPU but you know you’ll get your monies worth from them regardless. Buying this is like taking a punt on a new Amstrad console.
Giddas
I'm not paying that either, although to be honest I'd probably only have gone to £300 or so which was never going to happen
Kevvy Metal
I'm out... for now. It's too pricey for me, and I'm in no rush to get another VR helmet. I enjoyed using the PSVR1 helmet but I was no heavy user. A bit of a price cut, maybe a further revision and some games out, then yeah I'm in. But not at launch.

Sarlaccfood
Yeah that’s too rich for my blood. Can’t say I’m surprised at the price though. Sony are aiming for the Sonos/Apple end of the market these days.

footle
the leap in specs, and just the general consumer electronics market, means that this price doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Remember that the Quest 2 has leaped in price to £400 and is relatively old equipment now.
Alex W.
I think Sony and MS both made big bets on there being a need for more power in this generation of systems, which in Sony’s case covers their whole ecosystem, and got caught out by economic stagnation. In this context it will be fascinating to see what Nintendo’s hardware release is.
MattyP
Think £530 is a bit of an ask given you need a PS5 to use it. However in the grand scheme of techie things its probably priced about right - however in this economic climate maybe its just going to be slow especially as its an accessory and requires further game purchases to use it. Also in conjunction with a post Xmas release. We'll see I guess. I expect by summer it will be £399 with a pack in game or two.
