Mario Golf Super Rush

It's a shame this release isn't great. I got all of the birdie badges on the N64 but the input lag makes it unplayable on the WiiU and those stupid Boos ruin the Gamecube version.

No. Just no. The N64, GBC and even the 3DS ones are fucking great.

I'd give the 3DS one 8/10.  And that matches my rule...

I never played N64 or GBC one - I thought the GBA one was great though.  Definitely an 8/10.

The GBC one was a straight up 10. It’s the best golf/RPG game.

I know I've posted this before but I still use techniques taught to me in the GBC story/ rpg part in regards to using an iron to get a longer roll onto a green instead of using the default chip.

They've never managed to be as good as that and it's been so long, even if it was basically exactly the same but in the newer engine, it would still be a good story mode type thing.

Are there unlockable characters in this? That's what made mario golf 64 so good for me.

Played 18 holes before bed in the challenge mode, -8. Super easy to play and will dive into adventure mode tonight. Just realllly hope there are unlockables. I feel that's a missing feature in todays games/

I've just tried a couple rounds of Stroke to check out the mechanics and it plays fine, just as expected. I've yet to try the other modes and the multiplayer side of it but I reckon this will keep me quite happy whenever the urge for a golf game comes up.

Quick question - can you play a 3 player 18 hole round of normal golf all on the same switch?

be a bit odd if it didn't support 4 players so I am 99.9% sure you can.

Why are you making me run for two mins to rest in my room. And then make me run another two minutes to play again. I don't want to do this it's pointless! Also the dialogue is pointless and annoys me. I also can't seem to put back spin or top spin on the ball.

Ok so far. Maybe adventure mode just isn't for me.

Sounds similar to Tennis Aces adventure mode. ie: awful

I couldn’t work this out from the in-game instructions either and had to find a guide online.

You apply spin with the second click, at the top of the power meter.

For a normal shot, you just press A once.

For topspin you double-click A.

For standard backspin, single click B.

For super backspin, double-click B.

Chris Plante on polygon called it the best sports game they've made since the gamecube.

Strangely divisive!

Sports game, or golf game? As coming off the back of GB/GBC/N64, I detested the GC version. I had too much control in putting the ball exactly where I wanted it to go. Thankfully, Everybody's golf on the PSP was just around the corner, and between that and the PS3 version, I sunk HUNDREDS of hours into that game.

I've done the first course in Adventure, and so far it's been a very pleasant game. A touch frustrating at times, in the way that all good golf games are, that has me calling it "Dogshit" instead of accepting that I played a bad shot.

Basically, I feel this will be in a class of its own online. When we're all teeing off against each other, and friends, it will mean so much more. BRING ON THE IN-HOUSE TOURNAMENTS!

I’ve played quite a few games online against fandoms teeing off at the same time and it’s lots of fun ☺️ I do wish there was some kind of ranking/stats though.

I also found this confusing. It does have a single, static screen to explain it but given that the whole process of a 'normal' shot involves two button presses anyway and a power bar that overlaps itself it's pretty poorly described.
