Did some rounds of the Big Run. Tough going but I enjoyed the location, and came away with a few wins and high score of 74. The Squeezer weapon seemed pretty good and the Grizzco Brella worked great for me when I got it too. 

 

Horrorboros came up on my last round so that was cool to see. Not least because we took it down! That's my first win against the xtrawave so I'm well chuffed with that result.

 

(No gold scales though.)

I still don't have a single gold scale!

 

And yeah, at the end of S2 I was something like S+7 but didn't play for a while; went back in and dropped like a stone right back to A+, S, S+0 - and had some great, much more relaxed games as a result.

I didn’t get demoted this season and have no idea why but it’s going horribly.

It's always two ranks down, so might still be in the same grade range. I went:

 

A+ -> A -> A-

 

Quite thankful as won't have to do multiple rank up matches. Hoping to dive into the new season tonight and give the new maps and specials a good whirl.

As far as I can tell I didn’t receive any rank decay at all. It was my understanding (and still is) that it’s supposed to happen to everyone and it happened to me the previous season.

 

With the way my current matches are going, it definitely feels more like punishment than reward.

Splatfest is this weekend!

 

Revealed a new track (as in music track) that is going to be in the Splatfest:

 

 

I didn't realise until recently but Squid Sisters are clearly based on Perfume. Also I was thinking for a while who is this Ian BGM - is this some official collaboration or promotion with something from Japan.

My trusty Splatoon 2 Pro Controller has recently developed a bit of drift on the left stick. 😢

Still, its lasted way, way longer than several xbox one and series x controllers have!

Not sure if something strange is going on or more likely there is nobody on team yeti but out of around 30 matches today I've had 1 against yeti, a couple of alien Vs alien and all the others Vs team nessie

I’m on team Yeti… but haven’t taken part, yet as I’m away from home and didn’t take the Switch, for once. Hoping to get a few games in before the Splatfest ends.

Yeah, I'm constantly playing against teams aliens as well, even though that was my own choice as well 🤨

Played a few tricolour matches this morning and all three teams were Alien 😲

 

In better news my new pro controller has been delivered by a nice amazon driver so can play a few matches this afternoon without my booyah bombs all drifting miles off to the left! 😂

Bloody Hell. I get back home and decide to get some games in. First game's a bust, someone disconnects. Second game is a 100x match! No pressure.

 

But I'm teamed with a bunch of muppets. I get best turf inker, best splatter, and at one point take out three opponents in one for a Wipeout. But no; one of my teammates got less than 500p inked.

I just checked on the app and 19 of the 23 Tricolor battles I’ve participated in were Nessie + Nessie vs Nessie.

 

I’m guessing with Bigfoot struggling for numbers you can’t have a Tricolor battle between two teams so it’s kind of broken because none of these mirror matches will count towards the results.

Nessie wins. This victory is dedicated to the Loch Ness gift and souvenir shops. Childhood holidays in Scotland wouldn’t be the same without them.

Hah, no wonder I had no trouble getting three different teams in tri-colour matches. I knew Bigfoot was not going to win the popular vote, but 9%? Ouch.

The matches I got over the weekend were mostly all Nessie infighting. Discovered I wasn't too bothered about out-painting teammates so I didn't take advantage of the x1.2 multiplier this time out. A win's a win!
