They're terrible. They've always been terrible. I've never understood why they were popular back in the day.

Me neither.

They (well, I played the first) were rubbish Castlevania games and rubbish "action" games.

I did like the 3DS Mirror of Fate spinoff though.

Actually, yeah that one wasn't too bad. I played through it a couple of years ago and it was a passable Castlevania game. Better than its big brother counterparts, but still relatively forgettable. Hence I forgot it existed until you just reminded me.

The reason I bumped that Castlevania Advance Collection post was intended to establish this as a Castlevania Advance Collection discussion :quote:

Sorry, but given my avatar I felt I needed to add to the Axelay 2 voices. Feel free to carry on with the whip-man talk.

I still think Saturn Bomberman is the best game in the series.

Yeah, it's the best one. All the mechanics changes that actually worked - afterlife around the side, lueys, ten player mode along with different characters and great maps. I think some of those were present in the later Japan only SNES sequels though.

There's probably more ways to refine the Bomberman formula, but I think the issue is you are at least as likely to screw it up.

I'd like a version that just has every map ever and Smash Bros levels of rule control, though.

A double pack of Snatcher and Policenauts on Switch please. Snatcher (on Mega CD at least) is one of the most stylish games I've ever played. They're basically visual novels (but very lavishly-produced visual novels) and switch is the land of visual novels.
