Konami IP That Needs New Games or Re-Releases

Konami released an MGS3 pachislot machine in late 2016, but you’re right: they’ve really dropped the ball when it comes to adapting other games. I imagine they’re working on other MGS machines right now. <Insert joke about pachinko nanomachines here.>

Isn't that Pachislot machine the very origin of the "Konami are more interested in pachinko" joke? It had all those amazing redone MGS3 cut-scenes that got everyone excited for a remake.

As for games, Ring of Red from the PS2 was a great new IP that they could have done so much more with.

Ring of Red is one of the greatest games the PS2 ever saw, there’s no doubt about that.

Unfortunately it was never very widely enjoyed, and the gameplay was fairly idiosyncratic as it was - not sure anyone would take a punt on trying to broaden that world out, as incredible as it was.

Like the Nintendo thread but Konami (and Hudson).

Obviously Castlevania is the main one here. By which I mean a proper Castlevania, in 2D, which we’ve not had since Mirror of Fate. Bloodstained should have been Castlevania.

I’d also like the GBA/DS games rereleased for the Switch please and thanks. All sorely missing from the recent-ish Castlevania collection.

Similarly, Bomberman. By which I mean a proper Bomberman, in 2D, which we’ve not had since Saturn Bomberman.

Another Lost in Blue and Elebits would be nice too.

Looks like you might get your wish. The Castlevania Advance Collection has just been rated in Australia.

I’m excited to play Aria of Sorrow again, the other two GBA games aren’t that great.

They're all a trillion times better than every single 3D Castlevania.

That's like saying Sonic 4 is a trillion times better than any 3D Sonic game.

Although I've got a lot of time for both Aria and Circle. Harmony I'm massively indifferent to.

No it isn't, because Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 are excellent and Sonic 4 is worse than having your bollocks torn off.

Of course but the DS games are the better trilogy. All that's inevitable is all the arguments when this trilogy costs £40 and the Advance Wars bundle is £50 when it's released.

Aria itself is better than all of them combined.

I really like the soundtrack of Harmony in all its decrepit retro video game glory.

Sitting back on my couch, 100%-ing three of the greatest games of all time on a giant flat screen with pixels the size of Lego and crisp digital chiptunes. What a vision.

Imagine if it used 4K to simulate the GBA subpixels.

I did love the DS games, and Dawn of Sorrow was my first of any post-SNES CV games, but I preferred all three GBA games to Portrait and Ecclesia.

Considering Circle of the Moon frequently goes for £100+, £40 is a bargain.

So much for Eurogamer. They report there’s a Switch Pro coming before E3 “because sources” but not a new CV Pack even though there’s actual proof right there. Shambles.

See, proves I’m the only trustworthy source of video game news. Especially since Konami clearly made this just for me having read this thread.

I've still got my copies of the Castlevania GBA and DS games but I prefer to play the GBA games on the WiiU VC. Surprisingly the release of those games on the VC seems to to have had no impact on their resale value, portable games retain their value to a ridiculous level.

I’d take a Switch re-release of the impossible to get hold of (since I sold it :( ) and absolutely excellent, Ninja Cop too whilst they’re dusting off their GBA library.

I feel your pain, I sold my copy of Ninja Cop years ago. But if Sphinx & the Cursed Mummy can be released on modern consoles out of nowhere there's still hope that Ninja Cop will reappear again at some point.

Scramble in HD virtual reality, like I really want to experience being a human being sitting at a commodore 64 again, using my 5 digit hands to load cassette tapes - listen to the noise using 'sound'. You get that in games now. Yes but seriously, why not a completely 3D Rez type version with twin stick control and g-sensor? Woo.
