Nice.  Ok, I'm in:

Century Spice Road playmat

Both sets of Century Spice Road promo cards

Azul Joker tiles

Is this worth getting?  The description saying it lifts the lid by 9mm put me off.

We used it the other night for the first time and I've always hated the set up for barenpark using baggies, it really put me off playing it, this definitely makes set up much faster and easier which makes it more appealing to play.

If you've got bad news bears then I'd definitely go for it. The box lift is notable but given the bottom half is just plain brown it's not too noticeable from a distance. Also if you do have the expansion then you'll still save space even with the lid lift. I can take photos tomorrow of how it looks if you wish!

I think you've sold me on it as is actually, thanks!

One quick question before I buy it though, I store my games vertically.  This wouldn't cause the pieces to fall out of their respective sections and get mixed up would it?

I also store my games vertically and its well designed/packed enough that nothing falls out, thats if you have the expansion though, which if you dont i'd highly recommend and its super cheap, i do think it would still hold in place without the expansion but some parts may not be firmly in place.

Thanks again.  I also fancy other inserts now too, initially for Quacks of Quedlinburg as it would be nice to just lay out the trays and not use bags for the different ingredients, etc, but I do worry about vertical storage with that too.

For what its worth I have the large majority of my games vertically and also have folded space inserts for Near and Far, The Isle of Cats, Marvel Champions, Caverna and Spirit Island, each and every one of them hold everything in place perfectly so given that 100% record for me so far I'd say its a pretty safe bet that you will be fine with things not falling out!

I've been tempted by the quacks one myself but also like the look of the bgg geek bits for the tokens and some of the custom 3D printed token holders which have space to hold the spellbooks vertically to save table space and make them easier to read.

I'd love those tokens too, but I'm too scared of a massive customs charge!  I hadn't heard of token tray that display the spellbooks before, and now looking on eBay I'm very tempted.  Are these the sort you mean?

Those look decent, these are the ones I had in mind though (link below), bit more expensive but like having the chips separated, didn't realise they were quite so expensive but ill maybe hold off until we get a new house then buy a 3D printer and make them myself.

Awesome! Yeah these would mean no insert required as well which makes them cheaper in my head ;)

Quacks is a game that we won't play until we can get people back together as can only play 2 player games at the moment, it's more of a 4-6 player game for us (I bought a second herb witches expansion for another player board etc and painted the tokens white), I'll likely hold off until then. It sees plenty of play when we can play at bigger numbers so I'll probably bite for one of those two then and see plenty use out of them.

See what you all need is very little space and noone to play shit with. Curtails your spending right the fuck down.

yep I can identify with that. my last three purchases were Talisman: legendary Tales, Minecraft Builders and Biomes and an Escape the Dark Castle expansion as I play with my 9 yr old when he isn't on screens :D

Othert han that I have a small pile of stuff I play singleplayer but hard to justify adding to it given time available.

Considering Jaws of the Lion and Castle Ravenloft for my nest single player game - the former being set out with unreusable stickers and stuff gives me the screaming heebie jeebies :D

I’m playing Jaws of the Lion solo and using an app to record everything as once I’m finished I’d like to be able to pass it on.
I may have purchased an organiser for it though to aid with setup - I’ll need to add another £18 to my total!!!

I've messed up, @Munkienut!  I caved and bought the wooden crates for Quacks from Etsy because there are extra boxes for the other bits too, but afterwards it dawned on me that they have no lids so with vertical storage, my tokens probably will end up everywhere.  Doh!

Looking at the pics if you still have the included insert I think you'll be fine, the boxes look pretty flush with the top of the insert so the cauldrons or game board on top should hold everything in place. May just require you to put that side to the bottom (when stored vertically) so the boards will always stay in place! Good purchase, wouldn't worry about it til you have to ;)

I'll start a game packaging, storage and arrangement thread for all inset chat!!

Returning to costs, February is done now:

January total £179

February:

Alba KS hardback pledge £30

Vampire the Masquerade Chapters KS extras £80 (doubly glad I backed this one now the video game has been cancelled)

Pandemic Legacy Season Zero £67 (this month's impulse buy - probably more or less a reskin of seasons 1 and 2 but I haven't played those, and any legacy game has a huge future lack of storage space bonus value)

Lewis & Clark second edition £36 - heard good things about this one, so bundled it with PL for the postage discount.

Total £216

Cumulative total £395.

March commitments:

Forest of Radgost standee pledge KS $64.

Likely some pre-orders will come in too like Obsession.

Oh, well excuse me! ;-)

Joking apart, sorry for derailing the thread somewhat. Good idea about the new one.

Tinners' Trail - £52 (New edition of this Martin Wallace game, which I very much like)

Thousand Year Old Vampire Companion Volume + ZineQuest £63 (Am intrigued by this 'companion volume' but it could be waste of money.)

Lacuna - Read Once And Destroy £15 (For a pdf of what looks to be an interesting art-house rpg.)

Victoria Hancox - The Alchemist's Folly £8 (Not strictly tabletop but I'm counting it.  It's a new choose-your-own-adventure style book, I liked V.Hancox's previous two books.)

Feb total: £138

Running Total to Date: £168

There will probably also be sodding import duty on TYOV when it arrives, plus a handling fee.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it @Stejay! Hadn't heard of it before your mention in a other thread led me to check it out. Looks great!

My first purchase on the month will be in an hour when stonemaier games put their preorders up for Red Rising. Hopefully not too expensive, now I've got through first book and half of the second I feel committed to get it regardless as I'm enjoying the books and characters so much!

Will do, it's in the post so I should have it for the weekend.  We may be too busy playing My City to break it out straight away though.
