My problem with the RE3 remake is it literally does everything the RE2 remake does but worse. No strategic limb removal, not as many weapons, no cool extra modes like Hunk or Ghost Survivors, the dodge makes the whole thing a walk in the park, it's criminally short for a full price release and turning Nemesis into some 90's schlock dino hybrid the worst offender of all. Literally all the locations I wanted to see in a RE3 remake were flat our removed or remade into something unrecognizable. I loved that final boss room in the original game with the dead tyrants everywhere, that's the kind of thing I wanted to see. The hospital part was the only time my pulse raced throughout the entire thing. Probably one of the most disappointing, aggressively average games I've ever played.

Conversely, I probably enjoyed RE3 even more that RE2, which I also loved.

For me, it felt like less is more. These aren't drawbacks as it completely changes the pace and feel of the game. It's a far more tight experience and I had an absolutely blast pushing for speed runs. I played through the whole thing something like 10 times, getting faster and faster each time.

I'm glad that the went for a fast paced action game rather than just a cover version of RE2r.

Just started playing this. If I'd played it in 2020 it'd probably been 2 or 3 on my list. Stunning Mirror's Edge-esque, cyberpunk-flavoured ultraviolence.

Please do check it out if you haven't yet, and be prepared for a challenge.

Just YOLOed this from my phone at work, it's downloading now. God I love gaming in the future.

Edit: “Be prepared for a challenge” = this game is impossible

at least you respawn instantly
