Horner going on about how it would be a shame if Mercedes blocked Albon from going to Williams.

On one hand it would be a shame to see him miss out on a seat, but then again it’s more a shame that Red Bull have four seats and didn’t want him to be in any of them.

I'm still not sure what Albon did in his two years in F1 to justify the apparent clamor to get him a seat again. I thought his performance at the Eifel GP last year with him complaining that 'they race me so hard' when one of the Alpha Tauri's didn't jump out of his way then taking Kvyat's front wing off when overtaking him would have been the end of his F1 career. Is it just based on a few exciting overtakes he had to do because his qualified so badly in which case he's just a modern day Kamui Kobayashi.

It's just Horner trying to shit stir again isn't it? Like you say he doesn't want Albon in either of Red Bulls own teams but he's deflecting to try and make somebody else the bad guy.

RB have the data on him so they clearly see something they like or they would not have stuck with him so long hoping he would turn it around. He did have some good spells early on, but these were overshadowed by the disappointing downward slope towards the end of last year.

They’ve also seen what happened with Gasly once you give a RB driver a reset, and my guess is he’s been a lot of help in the sim in the background this year + maybe there is a mindset change they’ve seen in him. Actually wining a race will have been a big boost for him mentally. They will also be looking in the mid term at their driver pool and working out the permutations if say Gasly or Max leave in 2 years. You want some experience in the pool.

Edit:

This also makes sense!

You’d expect this to be a slam dunk penalty but I fully expect the stewards to bottle it like they didn’t when Leclerc forced Hamilton off track at Monza a couple of years ago.

And if they do give him a penalty then it's "obvious Mercedes bias" according to the DTS fanbase

Woah, Raik has the rona. RK to stand in?! Looks like Ilot is double booked.

And not the first reserve, if he's there it's Kubica's seat.

To be fair, this is probably not the circuit you throw the rookie in, finishing could be points.

Look at the footage. Verstpen is going race pace, Stroll going slow off line. Reds come on less than a second before the overtake and no panels could be seen at that point.

He only had the light on his dash, but still it was less than a second when it came on to the pass. Even if he reacted exactly when it came on, I couldn’t imagine him possibly being able to slow the car in time.

Proper shitty if they give him a pen for that.

No further action for Max.

Yeah, he had about a hundredth of a second between the red light and passing the, around 150mph slower, Stroll. Literally impossible to have not overtaken him, so a correct decision by the stewards.
