I'm going to suggest the exact opposite approach, that they should just do something fun like Guardians of the Galaxy, but fantasy, as that would actually capture the feel of players at the table goofing around while telling an epic story far better than dumping ~realmslore~ on the screen and expecting audiences to care.

Nailed it by the looks of things. I'm tentatively on board.

I am concerned the best bits are in the trailer and maybe that bit above. Let's hope not!

Most recently the Black Panther trailer was absolutely spine tingling.

The actual movie was more like arthritis.

I saw this tonight at a Cineworld secret screening. It was very good fun.

Good news - if Mario is also good it’s going to be a great gaming Easter double bill.

That's encouraging. I've been optimistic about this since the latest trailer and the "Questions" clip - which is a well-worn joke but played perfectly. Seems committed to the tone it's going for, and that's probably the right move.

Just saw this and it was fantastic. Very well paced, funny, good characters, clever. It feels like a d&d adventure along with the crazy desperate ideas players have to get out of difficult situations. A really solid movie.

I'm also keen to hear whether this is suitable for kids. Is it particularly scary, violent, gory, sweary, sexy, etc? I have no frame of reference for what's acceptable for a 12A these days. I'm keen to take my son, who's seven - that seems ridiculously young to take to a 12A and makes me suspect the film is probably not appropriate, but he loved Jurassic Park and has never shown any signs of being scared or upset by a film.

To be absolutely honest, it's me who wants to see it, but neither my partner nor any of my friends will see it, and I'm not going to go on my own.

@Kagree with just about everything you’ve written. Though having seen more clips I'm less worried about violence etc but I’m wondering if a lot of it will go over my kids’ heads and they will get bored.

@Commander Jameson

Thanks! It sounds like it wouldn't be too scary or inappropriate for him. As with g wings, I'm still wondering if it might not be too boring/adult for him (it's two hours fifteen minutes long), so would be keen to hear from anyone who's seen it.
