Is the idea with this to buy PC-exclusive games so that you avoid buying a game for someone that they might already own on console? What about if they own it on the Epic Store (or another PC storefront) already?

If they have it on another platform or another PC launcher then they should remove it from their wishlist dude.

A wishlist is really useful, no limits on what you can buy, I'll include a Steam profile link so you can see what they own. Whilst there's no restrictions the spirit is more thoughtful, you can send a comedy gift, but it's not really in the spirit if that's all you send.

And obviously budget to a comfortable amount - don’t worry about being “tight” if you can only afford to spend so much. :)

Sounds like a great idea... not really participated in this before because mainly been on a console for a while... Count me in. Is there a cap on how much to spend etc?

It's always been spend what you want - I find the most joy from this is reading the thread once people start getting their gifts as it is basically pure, simple happiness and fun.

It's also best to organise your Steam wishlist - and now that many people may have Game Pass/Humble etc subs, a clean wishlist is the best way to try and avoid getting something you have elsewhere. But of course, you may choose to think outside of the box based on what people have played (as JPR will send you a link to their Steam profile, so you can be creative) and that's fun too; I quite enjoy seeing what people have put a lot of time into and occasionally taking a punt on something.

It's basically the most wonderful time of the year :D

Awesome! Love it fantastic idea..... :)

I'll dig through steam at the weekend and get a wishlist together... it's currently empty! :)

Good point raised above now that the PC market is so diluted. It can be nice to go 'off-wishlist' but that could well lead to duplicates. My wishlist is chuffing huge already so that shouldn't be a problem for my Santa :) In previous years where I didn't have the cash to take part I spent time over Christmas checking bundle codes against wishlists to share some Xmas cheer that way :)

Make sure your profile/game details are set to public so your secret Santa can view it

Boosting this before the 19th. I think the easiest way to check is to open an Incognito/InPrivate window and paste in the link to your profile to see what it looks like to a visitor.
