Bugger.  That's from Argos.  It's saying in stock for 9am tomorrow in-store collection on the prior screen but you then get that message on the payment screen.

Oh, bugger, you're right;  I need to validate my purchase by instantly buying more games, too! Newer! Shinier! Blacker (when I get that HDR TV...).

 

Edit: actually @Stanley, having read the Returnal thread, I think I shall. Down to 43 quid in Argos, so not the original 70 notes...

I was in two minds myself, but I gave it a chance and, boom, game of the year, just like that. It’s really impressive.

I sold it to a friend of tye family for cost price. If you read a bit further you would see. 

 

Also I moaned about the console for just reasons. And not for months on end. So beat it.

My solution to this is to not shop at Game or Sports Direct and not give Mike Ashley any money :D

 

Still miss the pre Game Gamestation myself (well pre Blockbuster too when it was a true indie).

Wasn’t Game bought out by Electronics Boutique? They were good before that. I never liked Electronics Boutique. They ripped me off once or twice.

Yes, but they were absolutely fine until GAME's management bought them back.  The timeline is

 

1990 - Game formed

1992 - Future Zone formed

1995 - EB buys into but not all of Future Zone

1999 - EB buys GAME

2002 - Management Buyout, Remaining EB and Future zone branded stores become GAME.

2007 - Gamestation

2012 - Died and ressurected

2014 - Back on stock exchange

2019 - Bought by Professor Pies.

 

GAME actually had to pay EB royalties for years after the management buyout because of copyright on all the POS etc.
