Got a Currys VIP code so placed my order in-store.  Went for the disk edition with the Bluetooth headset.

 

The guy was checking the emails and was in a heated debate with a lady where the email was forwarded on to her; stating that the person placing the order needs to be who the email was sent to due to the selling of VIP codes on Ebay; so something to be aware of if others here are sharing codes.

When I used the code I was given from here I didn’t need to show any ID. I’d just copied and pasted it (and the redemption instructions) to a note on my phone. Showed them that and it was fine.

 

I guess other branches could be different, but that was my experience.

Yeah, nothing required off me either. I think as long as they get the money they’re really not bothered!

My friend has been trying for weeks to get a PS5. He follows PS5 Stock alerts on twitter but was never lucky getting through the queues. Today on the Sony direct site it put him at over 10k. I joined the queue for a laugh and got put at 38. He's now looking at options to get his new PS5 shipped from me to him :)

I'm not sure exactly how it works, but I think that if you've had the email then your chances are good. I think any that remain unclaimed at 10am on the day are then offered on general sale to anyone who didn't have an email on a first-come-first-served basis. When I tried this last week bang on 10am, I was at position 38,000+.

I think the PS5 Stock alerts twitter said that queue positions for Sony Direct are assigned randomly when the queue starts.

What he said, how do I get an email from Sony to at least TRY to get one.

Also, I had a code for BT shop earlier, but after queueing I was offered Disc PS5 only.. Does BT ever stock the Digital version?

On the Sony Direct site? When they are about to start a queue they change the landing page for the site to a pre-queue page. Just sit on that. If you want a PS5 follow this twitter account. You can login to PSN after you get past the queue but it's quicker to prelogin while the site has no PS5s.

Well this worked, I was in the queue at 8 and by 8.10 got a PS5 Disc Edition order in so fingers crossed I've got one.
