PlayStation 5 stock alerts

I joined the queue from the twitter alert on my phone.  My turn started at 10:12.  Clicking "Buy Preorder" just leads to an error saying either they're out of stock, or that I've tried to add too many things to my basket.  Rightio...

I *think* I just got one...  once you get through the queue, go back to the playstation console page, and choose one that's not greyed out.  They just took payment an order from me for a console + controller + Spider-Man bundle.

Edit - no payment taken yet, but I've got the "Thanks for your order" email.

I got to the end of my queue a while ago and although it had a ton of bundles out of stock, there still looked like there were ones available. But clicking on them just redirects me back to the main PS5 page. I'm guessing they're all gone though. If only I'd been a few seconds quicker (and I was about 20-30 seconds late) - there were people just before me in the queue who managed to get one.

You do see some replies to the stock alert accounts saying they bagged a base console, but lots of chat that people wanting those go to the back of the queue in favour of bundles. Purely anecdotal.

Also anecdotal, but try to go for Smyths when they drop. I got both my X and PS5  from them relatively easily and a friend managed to get a PS5 last week after only deciding he wanted one the day or so before!

It seems Game allocates stock to specific bundles as some bundles became sold out, but others with the same content remained buy-able. The advice given from the tracker accounts was to just buy whatever bundle and return the faff bits you didn't want in the first place. In the drop today, the solo consoles sold out almost immediately, so bundles are where its at, at least for Game.

I've literally never heard of someone getting one from GAME unless they went for one of the bundles.

Hopefully someone will tell me otherwise here.

I think someone mentioned that they have x of each bundle. So if you really want a PS5 go for one with a Sports Direct T shirt for an extra £20.

I forgot to mention I finally got my PS5.

I was woken up by a discord alert and just went into auto mode. A few clicks and I had one ready to collect from Smyths.

The previous 10 times, it was a frustrating experience and I had more or less lost interest.

Youtube is very nice on it compared to my smart TV.

I ended up with what I think was the smallest / cheapest bundle that was still available (Console + Controller + Miles Morales).  Obviously you're paying full RRP for those extras, but at least I didn't have to get a t-shirt!

Just worth noting that Game's FAQ says you can't return bits of a bundle - it's all or nothing.  I guess they've got to get rid of those bloody t-shirts somehow...

(Obviously that's just their FAQ where they can write what they like - I don't know how that stacks up against consumer law...)

Interesting thanks. Now I'm wondering how many people may have screwed themselves over with the 600+ quid bundles with 2 controllers, PSN subs, headphones etc.

FYI there was an unanticipated John Lewis drop today so worth keeping alerts etc on at the moment.

Yep. @PS5Notify on Twitter says there is more John Lewis stock on the way on the 17th and ebuyer stock 17th-20th, maybe more retailers as well.

I logged on this morning and 15 minutes earlier there had been a ShopTo drop. I clicked on a bundle anyway and was put into a queue, seconds later I got to the checkout and managed to pay... it says its a back-order but I asked @PS5Notify and he said they ship within 10 days. So, fingers crossed! Afterwards the queue was over 20,000 long so I have no idea if its borked or if I jumped the queue somehow. It happened to someone else in the chat as well. We'll just have to wait and see.

For anyone hunting, the PS5Notify Youtube live channel has been a good help: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvhY3Mcb_sRbvVG2qCWK4gg - it has a live stream running almost 24/7 which auto-checks the big retailers and plays a big alarm sound when new stock comes in and posts links, so you can just put it up in the background and get on with life. The guy that runs it is very helpful as well and is probably so active because people send him small donations like a fiver if they get one through his info. I've nearly got one twice already within a few days via his Twitter/Youtube and now I may finally have one.

Just got off the phone with Curry's. I have coming the disc version which they only do as a bundle. Comes with 12 months PSN sub and £20 credit. Came to £512 altogether.

Should be with me Monday.

All they ask for is confirmation of VIP number , address and obviously your card details.

What your address for delivery or the address you used when you entered the VIP lottery in the first place?

For delivery which was the same as VIP one. Think it was just a confirmation thing. To be honest he did not seem overly concerned only had to rattle of the first 8 from my VIP code

My Game bundle just arrived :D

(Yes, I paid the extra for priority shipping.... but essentially I just paid £450 to get a slightly quieter GT Sport machine, so I already know I'm an idiot...)

And faster loading, unless you already had an SSD in your PS4.  I play GTS on mine with my PS4 friends, and I get about half a lap of practice on some tracks before they've loaded in.
