Shite, I was looking forward to the first game being rather more modernised.

The first game is actually the best one. The second and third game was modified so it could compete with the FPS games at the time. Basically, Bioware went from creating a pure sci-fi game into trying to steal revenue from Call of Duty/Medal of Honor.

Just get through it ASAP if you've played it before. ME2 feels a million times better. To the point where I'm happy to take my time and explore every nook and cranny.

Did you even bother to scan all of The Keepers?

I played through Andromeda and can't remember most of it. Desert planet, dark woods planet, jumping sections. Can't remember for the love of me who the antagonist was.

Archon, leader of the Kett. They found species that were suitable for ‘exaltation’...

argh... who the fuck cares.

It’s much more in the vein of the Uncharted/Gears of War set piece narrative cover shooter, I think. And they’re good games, just not this weird experimental action-RPG shambles that the first game was.

All games that year were gears of war. Remember guys? :D We went through a phase. I guess this year all games are rogue likes.

I'm sure you are right.

The first one was a true-ish RPG. How dare you?

love Andromeda. It was rushed, bugged to all er, buggery, but the combat is great the ending mission is fabulously OTT and it has the best Krogan in the series with Drak.

Yeah, I said it.

Yeah I've played them all already I just thought they were polishing more than the textures for the new edition. And the second game is clearly the best one.

Why would I do that again? I've played ME1 enough times now.

Dude. You have to scan all the keepers. If you tell me you're not going to do it I'll turn up at your house like Monica from Friends and offer to do it for you.

Don't make me do that. :coffee:

It's a bit late for that now. I just picked up second best boy Archangel and all the keepers are dead. Like they deserve

Amen to that.

Actually after the patches it wasn’t even really that buggy and the combat was indeed great and the new team were a great crew.

Yeah so maybe it was a bit DA:Inquisition in space but I also loved Inquisition.

It really does give good Krogan too.

I bounced seriously hard off ME1 at the time but then fell head over heels with the series after playing 2 and I also think 3 is a masterpiece (and whisper it maybe my favourite, even despite the ending).

I was really hoping they had tweaked the combat more as that was what put me off at the time but maybe I’ll feel different this time around. Hurry up download (can confirm it’s grabbing the full 100gb on Origin which is very annoying).

Starting as I mean to go on:

(I wasn't quite sadistic enough to pair Insanity with the glass pillow that is the engineer, and am instead enjoying roleplaying the most terrified sniper in the world)

Is it me or do the reflections run at 30fps

Yep, certainly in quality mode at least. I'm actually impressed with how good it looks, though - despite my reservations from the clips shown, Eden Prime looks lovely in is sharpened, post-processed, HDR state!

Imagine playing Shepherd as a male soldier.

I bet these monsters enjoy eating their bland, unseasoned dinner followed by a nice sensible, plain rich tea biscuit as well.

We don't need negs any more they said. Yeah well now someone is knocking Rich Tea.

Did I read upthread that the two discs this comes on contain just the first game and the other two are downloaded in a patch?

Well, I got it from CDKeys a while back when it was £35, but in the last few days they've slowly crept the price up day by day - it's around £42 now I think. I suspect if you can hold out for a couple of weeks the price will drop back down again. However, even at the £40-ish mark that's a whole lot of good value I think.

Just picked this up for £37.46 (says £37.99 on the page but Paypal said £37.46) on CDKeys, for the amount of game that's bloody good.
