That’s because it’s clearly all staged and they were blatantly actors. It’s all fake as fuck, you could even see how stuff was edited together to give a different context.......and yet it still wasn’t even remotely close to being funny.

Really enjoyed the first film as did my GF, however we both found this uncomfortable viewing, as did my mate and his Mrs, as it’s all a bit, well.......noncey.

An underage 15yr old girl being used in Bestiality Porn? An underage 15yr old girl lying on her back with her legs wide open and showing her first period and soaked underwear in public? An underage 15yr old girl learning to finger herself in some toilets? An underage 15yr old girl being taken to a doctors for an abortion after her Dad has “put a baby inside her”? An underage 15yr old girl being forced to have an “abortion” in some public toilets? An underage 15yr old girl wanting to sleep with older men and getting breast implants? This is basically what the whole film is built around. It’s absolute fucking trash.

Seriously, what the fuck is supposed to be funny about any of that? It’s noncey as all fuck! It’s basically on a par with that nonce film that was released on Netflix.

Do you know how many 15 year old girls get married in the US? To adults, because it’s LEGAL. The shit is uncomfortable and deplorable and this film is supposed to make you feel that way too.

I enjoyed it but yeah it's nothing compared to the old tv material and even the first movie. Whilst the story moments were interesting in how they were staged around real scenarios, it did reduce the typical material we have come to expect from these characters. I did however really like this new idea of 'exposing' good people such as the babysitter woman.

However the main problem for me was that he was punching down a bit too much. Probably not the best example but the family doctor scene in terms of writing was brilliant but I did feel bad for the guy being put through that. What would have worked better if he 'found' an anti abortion protest close by and interacted with them instead. Something along those lines.

Ultimately I'm at a weird place with it all, I want to try and watch the first film but I kind of wonder if's badly aged in regards to sexism/homophobic gags? or he was always punching down here and there.

It’s quite bad mate.

I feel quite bad about dudes in here going “he just took the opportunity.” Like it just excuses it. “There was a £20 note there I just took it.” Fuck that have some fucking integrity. The fucking dude is 76 years old. That shit is not ok!

But she was smoking hot and leading him on.

Is it also supposed to make you bored and not laugh once during its run time at how shit it is? Lol

You’re defending a film where, an underage 15yr old girl, is encouraged to finger herself and then does so in some toilets, before describing to a room full of people, in detail, how she’s touched her cunt.

You’re defending a film that shows an underage 15yr old girl having her first period, whilst lying on her back, with her legs wide open in a sex position.

You’re defending a film where a guy supposedly tells an actual Holocaust survivor that the Holocaust never happened. Then when he learns that it did happen.......he celebrates. Wtf?!?

It’s not clever or funny in the slightest. Its crass, verging on racist, lowest common denominator trash, that’s designed for Nathan Barley style “Rise of the Idiots” teenagers, that think they’re progressive but have small IQs, no real world experience, are borderline Narcissistic and have been brainwashed by mainstream social media.

Just for the record, I’ve worked part time not far from a chicken factory for a few years now. I’ve spoken to a few of the Eastern European workers that are driven their by their “slave masters”, so they can work for peanuts, just to survive day to day. Whilst they’re doing that they have the local chavs shouting Borat impersonations at them. Says it all really!

It’s a liberal film to make liberals feel good about themselves by setting up and rinsing spectacularly stupid easy targets. Even the ‘sting’ was a wasted opportunity, literally had him by the balls and all they had him do was thirsty dirty old man Republican things.

The way it describes Muslims and potentially ‘communist’ countries as savages, anti-semites, luddites and inbreds is completely outrageous and deeply problematic. Borat’s entire premise is look at how bad people like me are, let’s go find people nearly as bad, maybe worse if I’m lucky.

Also not looking forward to the next decade of absolute tossers dressing up us Borat at Rugby 7s and stag dos.

Don't watch any more satire

The worst film I’ve ever seen. Absolute shite. Pretty sure my IQ has dropped watching it.

It really isn't and it hasn't.

It's an OK film that has some funny moments, but I think the general quality and situations presented where knocked badly by the Covid-19 outbreak. I'd go so far to say its perfect fare for streaming services, but not a cinema release overall. There's a desperation to get it out on in its current form just before the US election to get any yardage out of it.

I must say that for a debut performance, Maria Bakalova showed extraordinary front in her scenes, however staged they come across, doing that dance scene and the woman's group speech take some doing.

Where was the satire? Jesters and clowns playing to the court, punching down instead of up.

Chris Morris or a fake sheik would’ve have got Rudy snorting coke off Hunter Biden’s laptop with that sort of access.

The joke is that many Americans do think the rest of the world is like this at some subconscious level, which provides a good basis for heat of the moment confidence tricks.

I do think that the scenes filmed in Romania (in both films) are a bit dubious, they do come across as actually punching down, even if they're obviously exaggerated to the point of absurdity.

Yeah that’s his method. But he never does anything or show anything to disavow that subconscious bias. Has he ever shown us a sound Muslim? Same with Blackface Ali G, stereotypes, that under all of it, is a heart of gold. I did like the lovely black woman and the Jewish couple, but they were borderline tropes too.

There are a few Muslims I know who are really tired of SBC playing up stereotypes about their attitudes to both Jews and women - like the mainstream media's portrail of Muslims isn't relentless bad enough.

You are splitting hairs, there is plenty of punching in both directions, it's SBC style, like it or loathe it.

Not really in the same league at all with Chris Morris (not much is), but then even he hasn't done that sort of satire you are referring to since 2001, his last two projects have been films in almost the same sort of vein as SBC's (although Four Lions is better than all of them, and his last one "The Day Shall Come" is worth a watch, also on Amazon Prime I may add)

We are probably at a point culturally where these sort of things will end, as its getting a bit tired. With that comes the suggestion though, that no matter how stereotypical or trope like they are, this works in all directions. Comedians of colour doing "white folk can't dance" etc. gags included.

Comedy is such a tough business to be in right now.

yeah four lions was transcendent compared to this sort of output. You can be a dangerous idiotic Muslim but not because you’re a Muslim, because you’ve always been a dangerous idiot. They present Borat’s idiocy as if its because he’s a Muslim and a commie, and if you strip that away, he’s a good person inside.

A film that humiliates the Vice President, and then the right hand man of the president, his personal lawyer, two weeks before his re-election is “punching down”? Oh come on.

It also took q-anon, racist, lunatics and showed them being caring and kind - and exploited by the powerful.

He crashed an anyone-can-access convention hall and screamed one thing, when considering how much of a cunt Pence is, and what sort of crimes and disgusting things you can pull him (or his president) up on, was nonsensical, harmless and played for laughs to the gallery. Hardly a ‘humiliation’, be realistic.

Just don’t like all the underage 15yr old girl noncey shit. It’s not funny, it’s just fucking weird. It’s something that’s been pushed in multiple films recently too.  If that’s what’s supposed to pass for comedy these days then people are fucked in the head imo.

Which is my point. You think it’s funny to tell a supposed actual real person, that survived the Holocaust, that it never happened? That’s supposed to be funny? Or when that person tells Borat that the Holocaust did really happen.....he celebrates. How’s that funny? It’s trying to be edgy and shock but it’s just not funny and really cuntish.

The first film had all the “throw the Jews down the well” stuff which showed people up for being Racists. It was punching upwards. Laughing at the expense of a supposed Holocaust survivor is punching down and not even remotely funny. I’m guessing all the people that love this film would find Roy Chubby Brown and Bernard Manning fucking hilarious too. It’s about the same level of cheap, crass, low IQ “humour”. Like I say, it’s like seeing Nathan Barley’s “Rise Of the Idiots” actually coming true on a day by day basis these days!

I'm not sure how to break this to you but... it's a film. An actor is playing a character.

Yes, it is a good idea to question your media consumption. Helps to not make posts that read like unhinged Facebook chain letters.

Yeah.......it’s a film.  A really vapid, shit, unfunny, borderline Racist film, that contains really low brow, low IQ “humour”. It’s also got loads of weird noncey shit in it. If that’s what you’re into then.......er.......yeah.

You've brought up IQ three times. And then criticised others for lacking real world experience and borderline racism.

I think people would be bothered by it being a 15 year old girl if the actor playing her looked remotely like a 15 year old girl. I thought she looked like she was in her early 20s - turns out she's 24. Not sure where the first period stuff is coming from.

Anyway I was moderately entertained but can't imagine that the world is a better place for having this film in it. The borat character probably isn't really justifiable at this point, and I doubt the film is going to be remembered..

If you think the scene in the synagogue had the old women (one of whom the film is dedicated to) as the butt of the joke you might want to watch the scene again with a functioning brain.
