Can anyone explain the significance in the latest episode of

Spoiler

the clothes being made partly of kevlar? I didn't really follow why that was important, nor why it meant they could fly a drone into the town.

As I understand it Wanda (or maybe 'other')uses whatever materials are available and restructures them into whatever time period she's in with the sitcom.

The drone was 80s tech and therefore not rendered immediately useless by being from the wrong era

It’s what the agent was wearing when she entered the town, and it was reconstituted because it didn’t fit. But the underlying material didn’t get changed.

Wild speculation:

SWORD runs manned space missions. Monica knows a aerodynamic engineering expert who specialises in radiation shielding.

It can’t be Reed Richards, can it?

You’re not the first to suggest it.

Out of interest, during the credits where Disney+ recommend something else to watch, is everyone being recommended Age of Ultron?

Just wondering if that's Marvel doing something meta as well, particularly with the speculation that

Ultron

may be somewhat involved.

Ive had it every week so far.

If Wanda is able to alter the nature of things that enter her reality, what could she potentially do to the people that enter it...?

Spoiler

Well that’s going to make it easier if the ever need to recast somebody again.

I guess so. In Endgame Banner says he's made up of Jarvis, Banner, Stark, Ultron and the mind stone. I guess because he's dead there's nothing left of anything and he's an entire fabrication. But I'd he's a fabrication of Wanda in his entirety how is he 'rebelling' against Wanda's will?

Spoiler

I'm sure they'll be a follow up to her taking his body, where she takes his downloaded mind from Wakanda and puts him back together, Frankenstein style.

Nobody else seems to have mentioned when Wanda got her old accent back.

I’m pretty sure Feige has said before that she was putting on the American accent so the avengers accepted her.

No, what?

Spoiler

Interestingly, the description specified that he is “the quicksilver from the xmen movies”

No, I mean, in the sitcom she has an American accent, and

Spoiler

outside the hex

It's her Eastern European one.

This topic is full of spoiler tags it makes reading and catching up on comments annoying. Do we really need them? If you come in here without watching the most recent episode more fool you.

Anyway, I have a theory and I will spoiler it until a mod says we don't need any

What if Wanda turns into

Spoiler

Mephisto, and rather than he being the literal villain of the TV show its actually leading to her turning into that character and she becomes the big bad of the next phase.

They made that joke near the start about her not having a nickname like other superheros because she's never been referred to as Scartlett Witch in the MCU, but maybe that's also because they want to don her a different name....Mephisto.

Yeah, what Feige said is that rather than having lost her accent in the movies after AOU because it made it easier for people to understand her, the character in universe was putting on an American accent to blend in more with both American society and the avengers. So she’s always still had the accent, she’s just been hiding it. It makes sense in that case that she would continue to put it on in the sitcom reality where the accent would be out of place, but gives no shots about putting it on when she’s angry in the latest episode.

I think AoU turning up in recommendations is just an algorithm thing. It turned up in my 'watch next' queue for the last two weeks.

I’m rewatching phase one and it recommends it after every movie. I do think it’s interesting that it’s always that one though. I’m guessing it’s to promote WandaVision, they’re thinking that if people are watching it they’ll be more likely to want to watch AOU, and if they watch AOU they’ll be more likely to want to watch the show.

Surprised there's been no mention of the book that Vision was reading to the baby:

Spoiler

The Descent of Man, by Charles Darwin. I remember the original X-Men movies really leaning into evolution, and I guess you could call Darwin the father of evolution. Paul Bettany played Darwin in the movie 'Creation'.

Possibly just a nice touch, but surely not there by accident...

What if....

Spoiler

The blip is responsible for mutants?

They could easily make that the origin story of how a load of people who were magicked back into existence by a golden space glove were somehow changed along the way.

I like the idea of mutants already existing, but a small number of them. Wolverine, Magneto and Xavier are out there, but now the blip has caused random mutations in the populace.

People saying 'If they're out there, how come we haven't seen them?' are missing the obvious elephant in the room, The Eternals.

They've been hiding for millennia.

@Thor @Broker I haven't read your entire discussion. Is this the one to which you're referring? I've just seen it in Sainsburys

https://comicscene.org/2021/01/21/wandavision-comic-tie-in-from-panini/

Wasn't what I was referring to. I'm wondering now if I got the early promotional material mixed up in my head and mistook it for an actual comic that was released.
