What television screen do you play games on?

4K is relatively rare on PC because most PC players do so at a desk, sitting about a metre from a screen around 22-27". At that size, 4K isn't going to offer that much of an improvement.

Sony OLEDs don't yet support HDMI 2.1 fully, you won't get 4K@120Hz out of them.  Maybe next year's Sony models will.

I know, that’s why i didn’t get one as I couldn’t see a difference in the picture between the LG and Sony. Or the smaller Panasonic for that matter. Can’t see many new games supporting 4K at 120 though.

Yeah that was a big deal for me as I was thinking of moving to PC. I love the LG UI and control, coming from a Sony LCD -- where it took 30 seconds to get going, everything was really slow, etc -- the LG interface is super snappy and responsive, and quite simple. Although it took me bloody ages to find where to rename my inputs, and the lack of catch up apps is annoying (although iPlayer turning up was nice)

I mainly use a 4KTV, although I use a 1080p monitor sometimes. Both are plain old 60Hz things.

I have a 55" 4k LG but its not a top of the line one; doesn't handle HDR very well in Game Mode so I turn HDR off on my PS4. I mainly got this one because of how low the input lag is compared to other 4k TVs since I mainly play fighting games.

A 20" Sony PVM for everything up to and including Gamecube, which is what I spend most of my gaming time on.

 

Then a 6 year old 32" 1080p Sony Bravia for the modern shite. With the size and layout of my living room I sit pretty close to it so the size isn't an issue - in fact anything above a 40" would probably look ridiculous. 4k is probably only going to be a marginal benefit at that size so I won't upgrade it until it dies.

Even low end tvs are starting to be 4k by default. I got one during lockdown which I'm chuffed with for the 400 it cost me, that's more than I've spent on a TV before but needed to treat myself. Even the usual 900p xbox one stuff looks awesome on it. 

 

I don't yet have a 4k console but I can't really see the difference between 1440p and 4k on Netflix (43" TV) so I'm not sure if it'll be apparent in any games.

I bought a Panasonic 55" 4K Ultra HD last week as my vision was going rapidly, out of hospital now and see good enough with my left eye so it's fucking glorious to see. Especially Netflix 4K stuff, it's an incredible difference to 1080p. I'm 100% day one Xbox series X now.

I’m honestly happy with a crappy old 1080p telly.  I can’t tell much difference between 1080p and 4K unless I sit really close to it.

 

Maybe I’m just old. It’s like when I tried to convince my dad there was a difference between a 1080p/720p signal and stretched smeary SD on his brand new telly about 20 years ago. But I really don’t care anymore. As long as it works.

I don't get to game on the telly these days. Got a 60" samsung 4k led that was meant to be great for gaming lag, and then not used it for that. It's for Thomas the Tank Engine or cooking shows now. Wish I paid a bit extra now for better movie picture but it still looks really good.

 

So my main screen is switch handheld :/

 

Got my eye on a 43" 4k monitor for work that's really for a new xbox.

I went from an LGC9 to the new Samsung QD-OLED.  Both screens are 65inch and very impressed with the Samsung.  LG still have better OS on their screens than the Samsung but mine is mainly used for games and movies.  Hooked up to PS5, Series X, PC and UHD player
