Now I've calmed down a bit, what does this mean for BotW 2 - didn't we think that was going to tell this prequel story? Where are they taking that I wonder.

I wonder if the ‘next update 20-somethingth of September’ at the end of this trailer in the Zelda font alluded to a Zelda direct when all will be revealed :omg:

From the video it very much sounds like it also takes on board some of the changes in mechanics from previous Zeldas to BOTW as well.

Really looking forward to this, played shedloads of Hyruke Warriors back on WiiU

I’ll be honest, I didn’t much care for hyrule warriors as it felt like what it was, a reskinned warriors game. I also did not like the visual style.

Still, this looks a lot better and more Zelda so I, graciously, will give it a go.

I thought BotW2 was set after the events of the first game, and always was?

The people expecting BotW2 this year were way off base, it'll likely be their big holiday game next year, but even that is a pretty short dev cycle for a new Zelda!

It is but it was suggested it would also cover more of the history of The Event too.
