no idea, my TV doesn't support HDR let alone everything else but the fidelity and frame rate have been more than satisfactory. Enhanced games look stunning and the performance is fantastic for such a quiet machine.

 

You can also piss in the Series X if you're in a bind.

This will do the job just fine (there is a 1.8m one but it's actually more expensive) for less than a pint and a pork pie, facilitating all the features your TV / Series X combo can offer to one another and being suitable for the latest TVs HDMI / your Series Xs features (I think you're only missing VRR TBH) should you upgrade.

Personally I'd encourage people not to buy from the likes of Currys when it comes to connects, as they've been spanking customers for years with all kinds of crazy claims of superior quality, picture and sound enhancing capabilities etc on their snake oil cables. They make a killing on them by tagging them onto TV sales as whats another £30-£150 when you've just spent a grand on your lovely new telly? Well I'd argue that for 99% of people that do buy them its probably around £20-£140 more than they needed to spend.

Elite 2 - clever pricing with the ‘LOL Sony’ version at £115 and the full fat one at £160.

 

More importantly….

 

 

I wonder if they've upgraded the internals in any way? My right bumper is on its way out (thanks Elden Ring!), so I wouldn't mind getting a new one.

Thanks that one is a decent price, my TV does do VRR though so does mean it would work with this lead?

Sorry, I'd seen someone mention an LG C7 and had kind of got you down as having one :wacko:!!

 

Anyway I'd be very surprised if it didn't support VRR as it's got the full ultra high speed bandwidth (48Gbps) so it should be fine. That said if you want to perhaps be sure (by way of the manufacturer saying that it will) then you could go for this one:

Bought one of the over-priced but nevertheless useful 1TB expansion cards so that I can download more games that I will have no time to play.

 

Curiously on my Series X, when I shut it down (have tested using eco or normal standby) for more than a few minutes the console seems to 'forget' the expansion card, and when you turn it back on it's not there, just the internal storage and my external HDD.  Pulling the card out and reinserting it makes the console 'see' it, and equally rebooting the console without physically touching the expansion card makes it appear too.

 

But on my Series S, there's no such problem - even when left on standby for hours, I turn it back on and the card is still there straight away.

 

The card is 'configured' for use on the Series X (whatever that means) and I can't see any other settings to play with that can solve the issue.

 

Anyone come across this issue with an expansion card before?

Hah, that's cos I do focus on finishing games and trying to get achievements too. 

 

It's actually 3 pads cos 2 have stick drift and one has the broken start button but that's my old Xbox one s gears of war pad.

My Series X has a wired internet connection and is left on energy saver mode, which I’m told means it will download stuff when there is stuff to download and when there isn’t, doesn’t do anything.

 

But whenever I turn it on, a rarity admittedly, it has to download a load of updates. I had this issue when it was on WiFi but someone said that if it ever drops connection it doesn’t reconnect until it’s back on again.

 

The boxes in updates under system for ‘keep my console up to date’ and ‘keep my games and apps up to date’ are both ticked.

 

Am I doing something wrong? There used to be an option about not letting the storage go into sleep mode during standby (which I had ticked) but that doesn’t seem to be there anymore, perhaps removed or moved somewhere very obscure.
