Plus you can now set speakers to mute when headphones are attached. My word, that's an overdue feature.

 

Oooh! Nice to see some recognition that colour-blind people exist, way after most games have worked this out. 

 

Pretty sure I'm mostly protanopia, though deuteranopia looks pretty similar for me too.

Yeah, I was going to get Sonic Racing Transformed but £15 was a little bit more than I was expecting.

 

I'm sure plenty of these will be popping up on Games With Gold over the next few months anyway.

I’m sure if I could offer MS a tenner for some of these games that have been hanging around at full price for years they’d take it, but they never remember to reduce them. 

 

Whether things go on sale is up to the publisher, not MS, surely? I would have thought that niche but relatively expensive indie titles are set up that way so they can recoup as much as possible from the handful of sales they get.

My Series X showed up yesterday, very impressed with it, picked up the Forza controller too, and I had to nab Balan Wonderland as it was only a fiver in Smyth's!... I know it's got awful reviews but I'm hoping for a little Yuji Naka magic tucked in there

As said, yes (but they'll never get restocked so do it now or never).

 

Do bear in mind you won't be able to buy any of the DLC unless that's an ultimate edition key you're buying.

Thanks! I just bought the standard edition in the end as I'm having so much fun with FH5 that if/when I get bored I have some new content to play.

I use Atmos and think it’s worth every penny, especially if you’re a 90% headphone user like myself. It’s exceptional for games that specifically support it (which the Horizon games do) and still sounds brilliant for those that don’t.

I have it too, having bought it last time it was on sale, which games do you think really show it off? 

 

I've been fairly ambivalent towards it, but I did notice sound in Halo infinite felt quite 3d, in a way that stood out to me.

The Forza Horizon games and Gears 5 are the ones that really stood out for me. I believe they both natively support Atmos and I’ve been hugely impressed with the soundscape on both.

 

I wanted to check whether it was just a placebo so experimented with switching Atmos off and using the default Windows Sonic audio setting and could hear a massive difference, so I really think it’s worth it. I do use very expensive Shure earphones though so I think that really helps it to shine too.

A slight saving can therefore be had buying this game vs purchasing from the UK Xbox store.

QUICK GUIDE:
 

  • Go to the relevant game page on the Hungary / Czech / Norway / Iceland / Poland store and click the blue ‘Buy’ link and log in using your usual U.K. account, this will first ask you to set up an account address for that their region if you don’t already have one set up. Google is your friend.
  • It will then ask you to add a payment option, this is where you add the payment card of your choice.
  • It is advisable to completely avoid the use of a VPN.
  • The game will then be available to download via your console as you normally would.

Lulz. I just experienced this on my Xbox One S too.  As far as I'm concerned MS have delivered on the no console left behind.  Now  just need NVidia GeForce Now to support the Edge browser (as rumoured)  and I'll be as happy as a pig in shit.
