Just to be sure you're not trying to transfer Series Enhanced games are you?

Nope, I can't get the list of games to populate at all, so before trying to transfer Series-only stuff. It doesn't work the other way either, straight up XB1 guff over to the XSX.

I've tried a hard reset, which usually fixes this sort of nonsense, to no avail. I need to trawl the insider stuff for ideas.

Barely touching mine due to work demands and catching up with games on the PS5. Not fussed with Halo so considering selling it and trying to steel myself for the wave of crap I’ll get if I go near Gumtree…

CEX sell them for about 600 so if you use that as a barometer yeah. You'll get what you paid for it.

Are both consoles NAT type open when they're both on?

Indeed. Just take it CEX quick and easy with minimal effort.

I am pondering at the moment over my PS5. Now that the initial wow factor has passed and I've played through what I wanted to - it largely remains unused at the moment and I just keep going back to GamePass games on my PC - and more recently switching the 360 and playing some of the old arcade games on there.

Just don't have enough time or more to the point I suppose - I think I'm getting apathetic towards modern console gaming - especially AAA gaming. Too many shooters. Coupled with the fact I don't feel inclined to buy PS5 digital content - especially the smaller indie titles as GP has that covered.

So probably sell and bank the money for now. Perhaps pick up a Series S just for the odd indie title I want to play and use as GP machine. Saves spending upgrading my PC at the moment too.

Well...let me know if you are going to sell the bugger, as I'd be happy to take it off your hands :)

Good question, didn't think to do the tests while both on. Fired them both up, tested via streaming to PC just to try to complicate things, and a Teams call running. NAT open on both and green ticks everywhere, except the ping to my XB1 was > 60ms but there's an extra wired hop via the upstairs satellite (wired backhaul) so not unexpected. The only thing I noticed is that while first opening the Network settings screen, it didn't pop up as IPv6 available, but it was there after a few seconds. Can't see how that would affect it.

I did pour over the Deco app again, as there's no detailed web interface with this router. Nothing obvious at all.

The only thing I can suggest is to try them both on the same router to rule out the satellite link.

My Sunset Overdrive bundle Xbox One died last week and because my smart tv is ancient and there's no WRC+ app on the PlayStation I've bought an Series S to replace it. It must be the easiest console to setup in the world and being able to plug the external hd I was using on the One into and it working straight away it great. I'm just waiting for the Forzas to download because they were installed on the internal storage of the One and I'm looking forward to the improved load time.

Is FH4 1080p@60fps on Series S? Not really looked into the performance of the S I expect it's somewhere between the One X and the Series X although the Series X and S have the same Zen 2 CPU but clocked 200mhz lower.

Just trying to work out if an S would be much of an improvement over my Ryzen 5 Zen 1, GTX 980ti based PC. Anyone have an older PC and a S how do they compare?

I'll be quite happy if everything runs at 1080p@60fps. Not overly fussed about 4K@120fps as I don't have an output device to support it.

FH4 Series S version is 1080p 60fps.

FH5 1080p 30 quality mode, 1080p 60fps performance mode.

CPU on series s blows your Ryzen away, GPU is around 1060-70

Very capable 1080-1440p 60fps console game depending.

Seems the S would be a good option then as a more capable GamePass machine than my PC.

I think you have to consider the absurd speed of the storage. That's what transforms FH4. Literally the longest loading times of any XB1 game I own, it made playing it a chore. Even menus took ages to appear. It's like it's loading off a cartridge on the XSX.

Indeed. Although my PC is fully SSDd!

Had a Series X until my earlier this year and cannot justify having two consoles so moved over to a PS5 - the idea being that my PC would do the GamePass stuff. However it's creaking a bit at times (having to drop detail detail levels etc) and still can't get PC components at sensible prices.

Not fussed about getting another X as it mostly was wasted on my 60hz monitor. Just want something quick, quiet and small to play games on until I can get the PC sorted. At £250 seems the Series S is a bit of a bargain and will make a ideal stopgap. Might even not bother upgrading the PC at all in the end.

Anyway thanks for the input all. I'll go and ponder for a bit. I'll probably see how the next bunch of MS games (FH5/Halo) run on my PC and go from there.

Judging by your spec, your pc is somewhere between minimum and recommended on fh5. Halo was meant to be a joke on pc in beta. I tried beta on series s and was a solid 1080p, 60fps. Here is footage of FH5 running on series s in performance mode, looks fantastic.

I'm running rtx 2070 and Ryzen 2700x 8c/16t and tbh I'm using my series s more these days. I'm only really using pc for exclusives and cheap games I pick up.

I only ever have a couple of games on go at once, so storage ain't issue on the S and shows it can hold its own on next gen stuff. Farcry 6 being most recent case, running at a solid 60fps between 1080p-2k Vs x 2160p.

Seems like a S maybe the way I go. I have similar use cases for my PC these days. Steam and well game pass now and again oh and tinkering with VR.  Looking at the cost of upgrading my PC to play games its quite insane really... I'm not really what you'd call a hardcore gamer into FPS games etc. More of a tinkerer really and play mainly arcade and story based games. A new PC would cost me around £1000+ as it would need a complete motherboard/CPU/RAM/GPU upgrade. Which I cannot really justify to play games (PC is fine for everything else I use it for - well apart from my Zen1 CPU not being compatible with Windows 11!!!!).

The turtle looks daft, but I'm liking the potential for what special editions you could get of a brick standing on end. Like, if there hasn't been a Minecraft edition that looks like an elongated mud block with grass on top, they should get on that.
