Finally got a Series X today, banishing my GoW One X to the living room.

 

Things I like about it:

1. Swift set-up, as it was able to carry across everything from my One X. 

2. Silent. Not. One. Fucking. Peep.

3. It's smaller than I imagined, yet still a rectangular beast.

4. Makes my PS5 look like something from an experimental art exhibition.

 

Things I don't like:

1. It could heat a small village.

2. Not being able to use the battery pack from my One X controller, is pure cuntery.

3. No really, it could heat a small village. I'm fucking melting as it is!

 

Current mood: 😃

All you have to do is press X when your ammo is running down.

I’ve got an X and it doesn’t seem to run that hot, I think it’s dependant on how you place it, upright on top of an AV unit with lots of space surrounding it seems to work. Someone else was saying theirs got hot in an AV unit.

Apologies that this has been asked many times but any suggestions for where to keep my eye on a Series X? 

 

I've followed the Twitter account that gets posted occasionally but despite setting up push notifications, it never works for me. Are there any good Discords maybe?

This one? 

 

I've checked it a few times over the last few weeks as a friend is trying to get an X - I sent him one of the links last week and he managed to get one.

 

A lot of the links he posts sell out mega fast but it's definitely the best source I've come across.

I had my old PS4 in an AV unit and you could’ve fired pottery in there.

I don't get that. I'm using the same rechargable battery packs I used in my One X.

As bad as the story is in Doom Eternal, the Ancient Gods DLC goes even further and makes the plot of the base game look like Of Mice and Men.

I liked the ideas of Doom Guy as just some poor grunt who got caught up in a demon invasion and found himself surprisingly good at slaughtering the denizens of Hell and somehow ended up travelling the multiverse constantly getting into trouble. A bit like Ash from Evil Dead.

 

Then in the DLC they reveal that he’s actually a clone of God except the AI and Robot Man (who are actually angels) deposed God and ran a millennia long smear campaign against him so now he’s Satan. The Devil also lives in a place that kinda looks like a location from the Star Wars prequels painted red.

 

Not making any of this up.

The shape of the battery cover is different, so it's only an issue if you can't use the standard battery cover.

You will love it. Keep in mind that it starts as a straightforward shooter, so keep playing! You'll see. It has some incredible mind bending level design later on that transcends genre classifications. You'll know what I mean when you see it.

Gerbik is not wrong - I only recently played Titanfall 2, and the campaign is just incredible - the best fps campaign I've played I reckon. What also helps, is that it doesn't out-stay it's welcome either - relatively short, but oh so, so, so, so, so sweet.

 

There's one particular level.....WOW 😍

Another Titanfall 2 convert here - absolutely tremendous game, and that was me playing on my One X at 30fps.  Still looks and plays beautifully.

 

The rllmuk hive mind is sometimes absolutely spot on.
