The foam is LDPE 4 which is recyclable but obviously less so then paper or card as less places can probably recycle it.

Right so what I said then.

Recycle? Packaging?!?! Are you mad???

You open the box, set up the console, and put the box away somewhere safe, you don't throw it away, you keep it to put the console back in when you sell it / send it bck for repair!

People who throw away boxes are strange indeed ;)

Haha true. I can’t remember the last time I sold a console despite the boxes taking up stupid space “just in case”.

More importantly, why would you pay more than RRP?

I sold my first console on here shortly after release and gave my gamer tag with 3 years game pass with it .

mainly because I found I preferred the PS5 and was moving so everything was being packed away for a while

I then rushed out and bought  3 years game pass when the announcement came they were increasing the price of gold then reversed it

I’d also sold the gaming laptop I had so despite buying it I couldn’t play game pass .

I then got in the hunting frenzy for a series S but ended up buying a series X off eBay

I hav3 a bit of a problem with impulse buying and selling stuff

I'm curious to see if the standard gets enough uptake amongst games to become meaningful. I do remain bemused that there's no Dolby Vision support for blu-rays on Xbox though — the format I'd consider it most likely to have merit on — despite supporting it for streaming and now games.

See @Wahwah* there are people who experience the joy of unpacking a Series X more than once!

Was just looking for a game called Huntdown on the phone app. According to the Xbox store its about £20 but when I search on the phone it has a green "install to console" button. Clicked that but nothing happens and can't see any mention of Gamepass on its page.

Ha I had the exact same last week with the Mass Effect Legendary edition. Was proper giddy till the penny dropped!

Speaking of Huntdown it’s been on my radar for a good while but I’ve managed to get into a habit of not buying games till they’re in some sort of a sale (I have a small list that I check against the weekly sale each Tuesday morning). It’s fine with me as I’ve got Game Pass stuff galore to go at for now and in the meantime my rewards points are steadily going up with me averaging just over 600 / day :).

In this instance the consoles are in the boxes

You know the Xbox has a wishlist option built in? You can then just check that list and it shows the prices.

Remember the days when you didn't? No monetary value attached to things and no thoughts of selling/repair just wonder.

Never thrown out a consoles box, not one that I've owned of my own.

Have slung plenty in the bin at the office, sometimes they're too tatty to even both with, so in the recycling go the card and any poly gets used to package something when shipping things out, hate wasting packaging ;)

Spent hundreds of pounds on this fancy new console and spent the last few hours playing SWOS  Forgot I bought it years ago on 360 and great fun going back.

Well that's one of the plus points of the Xbox eco system I guess! MS are making effort to not only allow you to play your old games but in many cases improve them. Like watching your favourite movies on Blu-Ray I guess. Nothing wrong with older games and great that MS are actually taking a bit of time to help improve them. Guess some of this comes down to Direct X etc and their software technologies. It's great.

It's fantastic being able to pick up some bargain bin games for next to nothing and have them improved for no extra cost. Win/win for gamers I'd say. Better than MS just changing for new remasters or remakes of 10+ year old games.

Is there something up with Geometry Wars 2? I’m fairly sure I bought it on my 360 back in 2011, but for some reason I can’t redownload it on my series X without it expecting me to pay again.

Log into your Microsoft account and you should be able to see any purchases you've made. Account.microsoft.com  iirc.

I think I've played more games on GamePass today than I ever did in the 6 months of owning my PS5  It's so throwaway I just love it, was contemplating buying that SW Battlesquadron game at one point but tried it this afternoon and though it wasn't for me. Deleted it and moved onto Jedi Fallen Order (which is great and staying!). Couldn't get on with Falconeer as the controls just didn't work for me so another one out the window. Then I tried River City Girls and got quite far before it crashed so moved onto Tetris Effect and lost a couple of hours to that. I need sometime off work to play the rest on my download list, not enough time in the day.

I've never played it but it amuses me, Eurogamer is the only outlet I've seen cover it much and they constantly foam at the mouth with delight over it. Everyone here hates it.

I read their review and thought it sounded fantastic. Gave it a good go but the controls just didn't work for me.

I have this problem too. I'm almost certain I bought the original Geometry Wars back in 2008/9 when I got my 360 but the store does not recognise that I own the game and wants me to buy it again.

The purchase history for my Microsoft account only goes back to 2010, and for the first few recorded transactions it only records purchases of MS Points and not the XBLA games purchased with those points. This was back when you had to buy points to spend on XBLA and you couldn't just buy the games using real money. So I can't tell what games I actually bought. MS changed its approach at some point around 2013/4 because after that my order history records the actual XBLA games purchased and prices I paid in £GBP.

I'm not sure why my order history only goes back to 2010 but I vaguely recollect linking my XBLA account with my Microsoft account at some point during the 360's lifespan. Perhaps XBLA purchases which pre-date that aren't associated with your Microsoft account.

I actually queried this with MS support who directed me to check my download history for my Xbox 360. That should give you a record of every game purchase as well as every demo, bit of DLC, movie trailer etc. that you bought or downloaded on your 360. Your download history is no longer accessible from the Xbox app or online but if you don't have your 360 set up (which I didn't at the time) then you can still check this via the MS Store app on a Windows PC.

If it's there in your download history, take a screenshot and get in touch with MS support. If it's not there, MS will assume it was probably bought using a different account and that your current Microsoft account has no licence to the game.

Would this be converting a profile on the console to a proper silver/gold account? I wonder if until the account had billing details etc associated with it wouldn’t tie up purchases? Actually could you buy stuff with a profile (rather than an account)?

Possibly... I never had Gold and remember buying points cards from retail rather than from Microsoft to redeem on XBLA.

All my other backwards compatible games seem to be downloadable, so I think it’s going to turn out to be that my partner bought the game rather than me and my memory is playing tricks

i second this, thought it looked great, but the controls...my god! it was like it was made by somebody who has never actually played this type of game before!...or they played Lair and thought that was the way to control lol
