Just sat here at work pressing F5 on the UPS tracking page. This is doing my head in, its sssoooo close!

:) Enjoy the experience. MS have made a nice job of the whole experience from opening the box up to setting it up... slick and effortless. Well that was my experience anyway...

Have you downloaded the app already - makes the whole installation process a lot easier...and give you something to do now....

I just grabbed the Game Pass and Xbox app, think that's everything.

Think I'm going to start with that Falconeer, looks interesting.

If you really want to test the graphical chops (and who doesn't with a new toy) - go with something Gears - either 5 or Tactics (both large installs though!)

Wait for a brand new one. It's not hard to get one with patience.

I took your advice and went and ordered it in a shop. Estimated delivery is June 3rd, can’t come soon enough!

The latest system update (Series X) has really ruined Quick Resume for me. While it’s sometimes quicker now, it seems just as likely to take 20 seconds + and games are often either refusing to load or loading and then refusing to respond to controller input, making a quit the only option.

Just unpacked and  It's lovely, so tiny and compact. Just slid right down the side of the cabinet, doesn't look like I have a Foreman grill hanging off the side of the TV. The experience for just opening the box is miles apart fom the PS5, it feels like a grown up console and not a toy.Not enough turned it on and I'm already more impressed it

It's a nice controller but if you're not going to make use of the back paddles, probably not worth the price. The battery life is immense though and I like the hair lock triggers. I got one because I had lots of argos vouchers from a survey site, however mine is currently in Germany for what is now the second time and my third elite s2 which I've had issues with the bumpers (and face buttons jamming on my original one which I returned to the shop), so build quality still seems to be an ongoing issue which carried over from the series 1 version.

Update on this, got an elite s2 back from Microsoft yesterday and guess what, one of the small back paddle buttons is iffy and not clicking/getting stuck and the left bumper this time is giving me issues. Convinced they're taking the piss now!

The difference between the “open box” experience of Apple, Microsoft, Sonos and…. Sony… kit is distinct. though the same applies to Nintendo - some of their packaging (e.g. Mario home circuit) is exemplary. Perhaps it’s just Sony who phone it in?

Subnautica is now optimised for Series X|S I’m not sure exactly what the enhancements are but you can choose between high frame rate (60fps) or graphical fidelity, it looks great in both modes and 60fps is silky smooth.

Is Live fucked again? I’m getting a message saying that I need to sign in to play my games like I did a few days ago. Twice in a week is pretty bad, especially as a Series S owner who literally can’t play anything but digital games.

To be fair Sony did say they made an effort to make the PS5 packaging 100% recyclable, which probably explains the cheap feeling.

The way the box opens is nice, but I'm really surprised how many times I've seen it written about and other systems get mentioned.  It really seems like one of the least important ways of keeping score. Especially since it's something most people will experience once.  It's not something you experience as part of the daily use of the system.
