I get what you mean. Makes sense to me pile in those £10 /10% or whatever pre-orders. You've essentially got a bit of extra income coming in when the stock isn't there, and you'll get the rest later. Gives you more oppertunities to upsell too.

I've just gone to use my XSX for the first time in about a month and the controller is entirely dead. Changed the batteries. Still nothing. Plugged it in via USB - nothing. What gives?

 

Also, the Xbox app on my phone doesn't recognise my console any more. It just says 'No console has been added yet', and when I try to, nothing works.

 

I fucking hate technology sometimes.

I doubt anyone is especially interested, but the only way I could get the Xbox app to recognise the console was to do a reset.

 

The controller is still completely dead. I've tried plugging it into my PC as well but nada. I've opened a service request with Microsoft and they want me to send it to bloody Germany to get a replacement, sigh. Here I was wanting to play It Takes Two with the wife in the evenings this week!

Game Pass Streaming on Switch is on the face of it something of a win for Nintendo.  Not too much cannibalising of their 1st party titles but suddenly you become a viable single console for a lot of people again and you'll get a cut.

Yeah, Scalpers are great for retailers.  No warranty issues and they buy bundles.

Odd never had a Xbox controller ever die on me. Wonder if a firmware updated has borked it? Have you tried to connect it to the PC via a USB cable to see if it recognises it? Might be worthwhile seeing if its a firmware issue or something.

Yep, tried plugging it into the PC. Entirely dead. It's bizarre. I haven't dropped it or anything. Maybe it's punishing me for neglecting my XSX...
