I value games I buy more.

You can still buy them. Although technically you are buying nothing, your licensing something. I stopped caring about buying stuff a long time ago. The sense of ownership is fake (unless we're talking about cartridges and games that don't get updates after launching, which barely happens nowadays except for some Nintendo games).

Wrong answer.

Right answer.

i didn't know that...

Heres the helpful answer then-

Head to your games library

Hover over the game and hit the 'Menu' button

Scroll down to 'File Info'

Here, look for "ConsoleType: XboxOneGen9Aware". If this is referenced, the game should function on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S from an external USB drive

Fucking quick resume. After working fine on Yakuza LAD the last few weeks, I had to rely on it today as I had to quit without the possibility to save at the end of a long dungeon. As I quick resumed this evening, everything seemed fine except no sound from the game. Since I didn't want to do the entire dungeon again, I pushed on. Beat all the bosses, watched all the cutscenes by reading the subtitles. Saved at the very first opportunity. Quit the game, and when I loaded it back in, the sound was back!

...but the save was nowhere to be found. It put me back right at the start of said dungeon. Fucking hell

I’m on board with a Series X which my wife very generously got me for Christmas. I’ve basically skipped a generation having had a 360, but since then the only console I’ve had is a Switch, which I absolutely love and expect to continue playing.

I’ve taken advantage of the 3 year Game Pass Ultimate hack by upgrading three years of Gold Live for a £1. The problem is, I have absolutely no idea where to start. Missed so many games over the past years. A bit overwhelming looking at the whole list of Game Pass games. I plan to try and rinse those before actually buying anything not on Game Pass if I can.

Also I have precisely zero friends on my friends list, so feel free to add me. Gamertag is in my signature!

Call of the Sea is worth a try if you like puzzlers.

...and terrible frame rates.

It's not that bad played a lot worse. Certainly did not impact the experience at all. Not sure what the beef is about frame rates these days. Sure for fast action shooter games or racers fair enough might impact gameplay slightly. For a slow paced puzzler story game? Really? It runs absolutely fine enjoyed it from start to finish.

The other games I enjoyed recently were Kona a snowy wintery walking simulator / puzzler set in Canada and Knights and Bikes.

All on GamePass. All a bit different from the usual. Not sure about frame rates though but they were great experiences. :D

The Outer Wilds. It's a tight experience, not sprawling, nor procedurally generated, but a beautiful terrifying diorama. It's the only game not on the Switch which I wished was, because of its uniqueness and intelligence. Just don't let some of the platforming become too annoying.

According to MS its a 4-6 day turnaround which would be pretty great but we'll see.

If it goes to the same inspect repair / replace center (Germany via UPS) as my Elite 2 controller did a little while ago then that did indeed take 5/6 days and they kept in touch by mail throughout :)

Finally it's install Series X day!!

Naturally I'm looking forward to it but (and there's always a but) it's sadly not as straight forward an install as unboxing, plugging in and playing the day away, as I've decided (knowing full well that late this afternoon aft I'm gonna be asking why the hell I started this) to have a good old tidy up of all the rats nest of wiring out the back of my amp's stand / 9 console collection, to hopefully create a little more room / reduce it's rather imposing presence as I just find it all a little too "BIG" and actually a bit annoying when I'm sat by it.

I've got the tools needed (skills questionable) to lower the stand a little and might even pop another shelf into it so that the 360 (bottom L/H currently vertical) can go on that thus allowing me to chop the legs by more meaning the Series X could go under the speaker (where the PS4 is) with the PS4 shifted into the empty space that my one X used to occupy. A good tidy of the cables around the back and a fiddle with the speaker stands should mean that everything can be a bit more tightly packed.

A few pic's to give you an idea of what I'm up to, I'll be popping some more low MB ones (severed cables / fingers etc) in as the carnage unfolds (read collapses) / when I'm done so watch this space :).

Rather imposing when at near head height...

Uggghhhhh. Probably all sorts (mini Monkeys?) living in here...

Right, I'm going in :)

Well, so far so good. Hit the point of having stuff largely uninstalled.....

and thought a break for food and drink would be a good idea before tackling the cable hell ball....

Right time to untangle that lot, label them all up and then measure, measure, measure again before going ahead and doing something that can't be undone!!

Jesus I though my behind the telly tangle was bad. That's an absolute moger.

Pah! You've got it below a slim mid-generation revised version of a PS4. Imagine what the revised slim Series S is gonna look like!

Has there been any word on further 360 or OG Xbox back compatibility?

And also any moves to ensure Xbox one back compat on series s isn't the rubbish 900p Xbox one versions rather than one x versions?

If a One X version has the option of 60FPS at 1080p will the Series S play that version, or are you stuck with the One S version (900p - 1080p at 30fps)?

Second one, unfortunately.
