Is anyone else having any issues with the face buttons on the new controller not being sensitive enough? I've had a few instances where I've had to press the buttons more than once to select things. And anything that requires the button holding can be a little iffy if you're only holding lightly. I've mostly noticed it on the A and B buttons. Just wondering if it's my controller and I should get it swapped - or if they're all the same.

I’ve found that the button press has a little more ‘travel’ for want of a better word, have to push it down further than seems needed/right - maybe due to using the PS4 pad previously?

Strange question but has anyone found games sometimes stuck in infinite loading loops when running from external drives? I couldn't get either Gears Ultimate or Two Point Hospital to load - they both got as far as the final "Loading..." screen within the game itself then never got any further. Transferred them to the internal drive and they both worked straight away.

Tried restarting Assassin's Creed Origins yesterday and got this from the first moment the game becomes playable. Uninstalled.

I don't think 1.4 is the issue. I use a 1080p 144hz monitor with a 1.4 HDMI and have no problems getting my series X to output 120hz.

My Series X tells me that my TV doesn't support 4K/120, but right below it it does say that it's capable of 1080p/120. If the auto-detect isn't picking up your monitor correctly then you'll probably have to override it.

Thanks both, when I was trying to get it working yesterday the refresh rate wasn't even an option to select.

Edit: managed to get it working by overriding the settings. No HDR with overridden settings unfortunately.

Add a fiver and get Shadow of the Tomb Raider and let me know what it’s like.

Im a couple of hours into this for the first time and really enjoying it.  Throws you straight into the story and action, definitely a refinement of all that has come before so far.

And I thought it was garbage when I played it on Gamepass a while back. Lara just comes across as a horrible character who only cares about her own self interests.

She lives in a mansion, has a Butler and is quite posh... she's definitely a Tory, so of course she only cares about her own self interests ;)

Is Shadow more like Tomb Raider or is it still another shitty stealth game with tiny "tombs"

I played the reboot and liked it - it had the stealth kill stuff but the arenas were focused. Rise was just awful for dumping you in a massive area and saying "ahaha loads of soldiers here to stealth kill with no indication of direction and there might be a tiny tomb to explore at the end of a 2 hr grind through the area". I gave up on it, being dumped in a laerge open area and told to stealth kill your way round a bunch of npcs is my idea of hell.

Aside from a handful of areas Shadow is absolute rubbish, and that’s from someone who finished the first two twice. The set-pieces are tired, plot is somehow even worse than before and the combat isn’t as good either. It does look amazing in places but otherwise feels very B-team.

How the hell did you find it to buy? I can only see giant £15 bundles.

It’s a flipping nightmare to find. I ended up having to do it via the website,

Well worth it though, so full of joy,

Shadow of the Tomb Raider was so boring I couldn't even be bothered to finish it, and I finished both previous titles. Really felt like a B team effort with a lack of polish and a load of unnecessary crap added in.

Its a real shame to hear the impressions of Shadow here , I think I won't plump for it, I'll give Rise one more try. I hope TR gets a decent reboot/refresh this gen but if not Tomb Raider Anniversary is still superb and BC. Probably the best TR game that can be played on modern hardware.

Keeping a franchise fresh for nearly 25 years must be tough there are not many that stand that test.

Why are only certain games possible to request download of via the Xbox app? I could do blops but not Gears Tactics or The Orange Box...

I was looking for The Orange Box to potentially buy on the Xbox.com Store earlier and it said you couldn't for some reason so not sure if there is some issue there.

And to be fair, it literally is a B Team effort, it's the first one since Angel of Darkness not by Crystal Dynamics.
