Sorry to hear of your woes @Purin. Perhaps if you throw in the towel now and call Microsoft they can get a replacement out to you or a pickup arranged before the end of the working day? I say them rather than your retailer because I assume Microsoft will have some stock held for such a purpose, whereas a retailer won't.

In my experience launch day stock will be snapped up very quickly by staff (at the end of their shift, if their manager is a bit strict) using their employee discount.

I wondered, if he was happy to, if @djbhammer would support closing this thread. 

 

It'd be nice to have a "Games that have been updated to take advantage of Series Hardware"  thread, it'd be easy to get a recommendation to check out a back catalogue title and and a hardware impressions and discussion thread, and not have it all be buried in here, especially since some people will be wondering if their hardware is ok as well as "how do I...?" things.  I did think about making both of those threads, but didn't want to tread on anyone's toes, and I also think that as long as this thread is open, it'll just end up being the one where everything gets dumped.

 

I have gone on the record repeatedly as saying that Megathreads aren't good for actually sharing info, they're good as an alternative to a chatroom IMO, but there's a couple of things that now people are getting hardware, including some who haven't been on xbox for ten years, that are about to be asked every couple of pages. Because, as we reach 500 pages, nobody's going to go over it all on the offchance that their question has been asked and answered already.

 

I just thought I'd posit the idea, won't feel upset if most people think that putting everything about these new systems in one thread is the right thing to do.

 

Obviously, most people will miss this excellent post since it is itself buried in a megathread.

I think this is a great idea. 

 

Like you say, there is so much being discussed now that its hard to find the info people may be looking for. I agree it makes sense to break it down into 2 or 3 separate threads now the consoles have launched.

 

More than happy for you to approach the Mods to close this one (once you have created the new ones obviously) but if you need me to do it, just let me know.

I think I had a very similar reaction when getting into a game, it does look silly good.

 

(caveat, I’ve almost exclusively played on switch up until now but did play the one x version from time to time)

For those who want something to play then Gears Tactics is supposed to be really good and is kind of the all new system exclusive. (I don’t count PC)

 

I was quite surprised to see so many X/S titles on the store including a few I wasn’t expecting and it’s real good to see all the EA titles on there.

Odd thing. Will O Wisps got an S|X update with a 120Hz setting right? Yet it would still let me run it off my USB drive. 
 

Are there some updates that don’t quite class as S|X updates and thus don’t require to copy over?

 

Also, what do the little horizontal arrows mean on a game in the bottom right?
