Xbox Series X | S

Ah, yes - Premium, not Arcade.  I may be wrong, but my memory tells me the difference was about £30 when I bought it.

I don't even have a 1080p TV right now (720p Panny Plasma all the way), but am likely to get a 4K set later this month.  I know the S will be fine, but I'm inclined to try and get an X, if only so that I'm not always questioning my decision...

Is there some kind of livestream or something happening soon?

7pm UK time tomorrow for global event. 6PM tonight for UK 6 hour countdown, details in one of my posts above.  Have added detail too in first post. Shame no one will have their new toys though at midnight!

Planet Coaster is on game pass on 10th.

Very annoying as my partner just bought me it for Christmas.

Well at least you didn't buy it on the Switch and pay "Switch Tax" :D  Every time I was about to buy some indie title that was of interest to me on the Switch it appeared on GamePass. It happened so often it was uncanny. So in the end just sold it and kept my GP sub...

I'm currently fine with cancelling my Series S order, but as always there's that little magpie itch at the back off my head. And that'll probably get worse when my OHs Series X turns up :seanr:

I guarantee you've just upgraded yourself to buying an X, you just don't realise it yet

The live event is going well, the clock that’s “counting down to the Xbox series x and a launch”  is just a clock, and therefore is counting up.

The timetable on screen isn’t in the same order as what they said.

These things shouldn’t be that hard to do

Since launching Xbox Game Pass in 2017, we’ve worked to make Xbox Game Pass the one membership for gamers and continue to provide the most value for members. In the spirit of this work we rolled out Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks earlier this year, and with the help of content partners and companies like 2K, SEGA, Spotify, Postmates and Discord, we’ve been able to regularly provide members with new experiences and in-game content at no additional cost. Today we’re announcing the newest Perk for our Ultimate members: 30-days of Disney+*.

Starting today, Ultimate members will be able to stream all of the great entertainment available with Disney+, including content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. From old favorites to the latest epic movies, series and Originals from the world’s best storytellers, including the new season of The Mandalorian, we’re excited to provide this trial as a Perk to our members. Ultimate members who are new to Disney+ will be eligible to claim the 30-day subscription trial through the Perks Gallery on their Xbox console, on the Xbox app on Windows 10 PC, or through the Xbox Game Pass mobile app on iOS and Android. Once the Perk is claimed, members will be directed to the Disney+ site activate their subscription. Disney+ is also available on Xbox One and will be available on Xbox Series X and S, so you can download the app via the Microsoft Store. If you’re interested, don’t wait too long! Members can claim and activate the trial until January 31.

There are now millions of Xbox Game Pass members in 41 countries around the world, and we want to thank you for your continued feedback as we find new ways to add value to the service. From expanding the Xbox Game Pass experience to new platforms like Android mobile devices, to teaming up with Electronic Arts to bring EA Play to our Ultimate and PC members this holiday, to the ongoing work done to ensure our library is full of more than 100 great games to discover – all at no additional cost – we’re using your feedback to continue evolving Xbox Game Pass.

From all of us at Team Xbox, we hope that you enjoy access to Disney+ through the Perks program this holiday. Stay tuned for what’s next for Xbox Game Pass!

For those who ordered through Amazon, check your email as they have just sent me a promotional code for £10 off a controller. Thing is, I had already ordered a second controller, and after chatting with them, they would rather me send back the controller I receive and then order another to get £10 off, than just give me £10 back off my purchase

So I have a Turtle Beach which plugs in with an adapter to my original Xbox One controllers.  Do the new controllers have the same fitting?  Do I need a new headset? I like the buttons on it...

Should I have thought about this earlier?

Im guessing my original controllers will still work?

Nope not needed the new controllers have a jack in them. They are also Bluetooth too (in case you were wondering :D).

Although having the separate mute and volume controls on that widget is nicer over the software volume controls.

So I can plug my existing TB into the audio Jack on the controller.  Does it get enough power then? Stupid question I guess

I have a Venom play & charge kit which I’m gonna swap over, so I should get a second controller I think.  Wasn’t sure if I should be spending on a headset!

Fuck you’re kidding. Spent 50 quid on that. Bit rum announcing it the day before.

Do MS do refunds for digital?

They do. Just don't play it too long! Can't remember what the policy is these days but they've always been good with this. In fact got a refund for something and they didn't remove the something from my account.... Odd....

The play and charge kits don’t work on new pads I thought!?

Guessing so as it's the same as plugging it into the adapter. It'll probably take less power from the controller than the plug in widget....

Xbox One Play and charge kits that include their own battery doors don’t work.

The battery doors are a different size due to the smaller Series  X | S controllers. I had the Xbox One Power A one but have ordered their new version which is coming tomorrow.
