Ha, Bright Memory is cheap enough and, according to this, is also a Next gen launch day exclusive!

Apparently it's just the first episode not the full game.

Folks - am I right in thinking that Gears 5 has one of the most expansive usages of the new shinies at launch? Am I also right in thinking that these will need a new download for the XSX or will we be able to transfer our existing downloads from a USB drive over?

Smart Delivery will just grab the assets needed for Series X.

How can I share games with my son? He's got an Xbox and has just bought a game I want to play.

Thing is he plays on my Xbox a lot too, so he needs to be able to play in two locations easily.

Is it possible?

Set each Xbox as each others 'My Home Xbox'.

Pretty shitty all around, on Activision for not allowing people to get an upgrade on a brand new title and for Sony allowing publishers to charge upgrade fees.

There is a pattern forming here. NBA 2K21 does not support Smart Delivery and also has a marketing deal with Sony.

You can buy The Mamba edition, which includes both versions of the game, for the bargain price of £85!

Just had my confirmation of launch day delivery from Argos, coming with DHL, tracking number to be provided this evening :omg:

Think I'll spend tomorrow playing " Let's transfer all this shit over the network " It's a fun game I played not many months ago from the One S to the One X, be nice to have it back on again ;)

Do you have an external USB drive? Might be quicker shifting content via that? Not sure not looked at the numbers... also... it depends on how much you have to move over I guess!  Although you could also just transfer what you want to play over bit by bit?

Saying all that... you can just leave it overnight transferring over the network.

I use new machines as a way of having a clean up... just put the stuff back I want to actually play on there.

Must admit feeling a bit down at the moment all you lot getting new toys to play with... bah.... I couldn't even secure a new video card for my PC.... :( Still I guess I should have pre-ordered something.

I do have my Mario Game and Watch coming on Friday though so not all bad! :D

EDIT: And clearly I really don't have space for a new console... Well that's my excuse anyway... Certainly more true of a PS5! :D

Spare a thought for us Xbox newbies tomorrow. While it's true that we will get to experience all these games for the first time, this will come at a price, which is that while the rest of you are hooking up your carefully prepared USB drives and diving straight in, we'll be downloading absolutely everything from scratch, at a speed equivalent to typing in C&VG Spectrum listings dictated through a walkie-talkie.

Should have played the 200IQ game like me and borrowed an Xbox one and downloaded loads of games on an external ssd - eBay have 14 day gamepass codes so have been buying some of them and building up reward points too :sherlock:

If it offers any comfort, I've always found the Xbox store to be much better than Playstation in terms of download speed.  Obviously tomorrow is going to be chaos regardless but hey :)

Start with something at small (Lonely Mountains: Downhill is under 1Gb) and then set the rest going while you play.

Besides, you've got the mother of all Day One patches to get through.

Same here. I would love an Xbox Series X, but there aren't any games I want to play. Would've got one if Halo was a launch title.

Getting the Game & Watch though!

I know... new tech though... :D Amazed I have showed so much restraint (and logic) this time around. Saying that I managed last time until January after the launch of the last set of consoles. Part of the reason I'm holding off this time. I bought a PS4 to play DriveClub. Which I expected to see Feb/March time... silly me. Ended up spending most of my time playing Resogun. No bad thing however wasn't convinced that it couldn't be done on a last gen machine at that point. Got Killzone : SF with it - which I wasn't too impressed with TBH - remember it having really ill defined save points - which were later patched out. I was an odd start to a new gen for sure. Ended up getting a XBO and Forza Horizon 2 after playing it before DriveClub even got released. Best decision I made. Although did play DC later and it was a good game. Enjoyed FH2 much more though at the time.

This one is even stranger though. Play your old games better. Certainly the first for a console launch. Which is why I didn't put a pre-order in. Actually wanted something I couldn't play at the moment... :)

Still Game and Watch on Friday. Yay..... :) Again something old in a new package. It will sit next to my mini SNES quite nicely....

Still enjoying reading this thread... feel part of it...

I'm in the same boat.

After this anticipation to be part of the next gen, full fat gaming experience...I expect I'll just be playing Slay the spire.

Accumulate 150+ hours on a different platform. But oh those cards will POP with auto HDR.

Will Forza Horizon 4 be Series X enhanced from the get-go? Fancy a racing game to start with, they usually have visuals that can blow your socks off.

It looks amazing already on the  One X and on the PC (where I've been playing it of late). Sure they will be tarting up a bit for the Series X. Expect it'll run at 4k@60fps at least? If you've not played it before you are in for an absolute treat....

Yeah, erm... I did that coming from the One S to the X, it was only back in April / May time I think ( it was £145 without a controller, and CEX paid me £223 for my One S, so was stupid not to do it really ) It'll be fine, I'm sure I can use an ethernet cable into the router on each of them, it'll look like a pig for a few hours and I'll need to clear the office desk, but it should be quicker than trying to shovel it through on a basic connection.

First actual game I'll play will be Watchdogs 3, if the local Sainsbury's has any games, it's the double up Nectar thing this week, so I'm going to splurge some of those ammased points in an annual game swoop.

* OK futile effort I've stopped now.

You know there are more going up tomorrow morning?

:) Indeed if you want to test your new shiny box put Gears Of War 5 and Forza Horizon 4 on it. Both had lots of money pumped into them and pretty much state of the art games on the Xbox One.
