I initially turned this off almost immediately on my first try, played it today with my two young kids and we loved it. Can't wait to get stuck in later.

Hello folks, I appear to be stuck/glitched.

I used spirit flower BEFORE getting ICEBREAKER, can I get another or is this a glitch? 

 

I've tried searching Google but to no avail, any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

You can certainly get more, although the icebreaker is pretty vital for progression. What did you spend it on out of interest? I didn't think you could use it outside of that particular upgrade path, although I'm probably forgetting something obvious.

This request was actually on my brother's behalf and, it turns out, he managed to get more flowers by helping other passengers to 'move on'. 

 

I've no idea what he spent it on. 

 

Looking forward to playing this myself now, once I finish up a few things in The Touryst...

The management elements have got their hooks into me, I'm a sucker for growing crops, but the story side of things has left me pretty dry so far if I'm honest. 

 

Seen off Gwen and don't think I really understood what she was banging on about half the time, much the same with the other characters I have on board with me. Maybe I'm not geling with the writing. 

 

Am I dead inside?

The characters are all quite different, so you might find you like some more than others. Their stories are varied too, and they tend not to spell things out too overtly.

 

I think it's absolutely brilliant.

You can make sunflower oil by crushing sunflower seeds in the crusher. I didn't realise for ages that the "fat" the recipe specified was just a class of food, not something specific.

 

After that, just cook chicken with sunflower oil.

Chicken and Fat. Easiest way to get fat is sunflower oil, which you make by putting Sunflower seeds in the crusher

I'm still loving this, I have said goodbye to three spirits, unlocked all of the map, and I'm sailing around now doing quests, cooking up a storm, and building improvements.

 

I really like the variation in the characters of the spirits and the quests. 

 

The mystery seed one was particularly good.

This game is an absolute gem.

 

I reckon a lot of people might be put off by the long play time but I’m quite a way in now and I don’t want it to end. I’d happily carry on tending to my crops and animals for a long time to come.

 

Obviously I don’t know how it’s going to end, but as it stands I could totally see them adding more spirits in an update.

 

Really hope it does well for them and doesn’t fly under too many peoples radars.

Weird question people might not be able to answer. As this is all about death,  if you’ve suffered a bereavement and still dealing with it, should you be avoiding this or seeking it out?

Get it its great. Iv dealt with two of the issues iv come across so far and it's written so nicely I was fine with it.

Only you can really answer that, but it deals with death extremely sensitively. It reminds me a lot of the mexican Day of the Dead festival, in a way. The game is all about helping spirits move on and come to terms with the life they had, their achievements and their losses, and helping them to get to the point where they are ready to say goodbye and move on to the other side.

 

Each spirit you say goodbye to gives you a big long hug before they go too. If that sounds a bit much for where you are right now then I'd not recommend it, but I'd probably wager that whilst the game might reduce you to tears they'll probably be bittersweet or even happy ones.

 

Whilst some of the themes are quite heavy (spoiling general themes):

 

Suicide, drug addiction, terminal illness, dementia

 

it's all mainly dealt with via metaphor or allusion rather than outright depiction of the darker stuff.

I'm a pretty emotional guy and I havnt shed a tear. I have felt the pure emotion in some of the scenarios. I'd definitely recommend it it's actually a good coping mechanism for grief.

I've had no problems with it, mind I started on Xbox and only switched after a little while so maybe that has an effect.

Every comment on the page for the game on GP says they just can't save at all, which is a damn shame, as it seems like I'd love it.

I also didn’t have any issues in the 30 so hours I played it from launch. Some people definitely had saving issues looking at the reddit and discord but they say they fixed the save issues with a patch on the 28th.

 

Have you tried it yourself or just basing it off reviews?

I've got to a point where I don't seem to have access to any of the required materials to upgrade the ship and complete quests.  I'm pretty fed up with the monotony of the maintenance and the travelling reminds me of Wind Waker, which definitely isn't a good thing!   Willing to give it one more chance, but I'm really not sure what I'm supposed to do to progress things.  Should I just be exploring the uncovered areas beyond the ice wall thingy?  To give an indication of progress, I have the glide ability, the ship is one away from the largest size, and I've offloaded one of my guests so far.

I'm one of those reviews - but it's now completely fixed.

 

Annoyingly, the windows game store doesn't let you delete / update reviews, which is why my negative review is still there.

Finished this yesterday. It really is a great game and I enjoyed it immensely.
 

I must say though I ended up being a little disappointed that you’re able to ‘finish’ the game  whilst there is still so much to do. I’d only revealed about half the map and there were buildings that I’d never even needed to use. I wish they’d made completing everything mandatory in order to progress to the finish line.
