There's only 1 massive dissapointed within that announcement and it was something that didn't get announced.

Why no Peacemaker Season 2? 😭

I'm assuming here that Waller basically is peacemaker S2 and also carrying on shit from The Suicide squad.

The Authority movie is a bit of a surprise as Warren Ellis - the co-creator of the team, has pretty much been ostracised by everyone in comics, Marvel didn’t give him any credit for the Moonknight series, even though his short run was very influential on the show.

It should make a cracking film though, and something I am really looking forward to watching, I wonder if they can get Florence Pugh to play Jenny Sparks, she would be perfect for the role.

“Gentlemen we have a strategy to deal with the ‘Flash’ marketing situation.”

”Is it Batman?”

”Uh, it…”

”Because the last six or seven times we’ve shit the bed, your answer has been Batman.”

“It’s not entirely Batman.”

And I think people are beginning to suspect that’s the only thing that we don’t consistently drive over a fucking cliff, and I’m worried that at some point we’re going to break Batman by leaning on it every time we need a fucking DC property people will show up for. I mean it’s figuratively overshadowing our other brands.”

”…”

”Okay just show me the fucking poster.”

“God fucking damn it.”

This looks AMAZING!

But I'm confused, mainly because of the fucking state of the DCEU.  So if Ben Affleck's Batman (well, Bruce Wayne at least) is in this, at the same time as Michael Keaton's Batman, where does Robert Pattison's "The Batman" fit in?

Pity about Ezra, cos for me he's really charismatic throughout all the films.

Once the flash movie is done then we are apparently into Gunn's DCU and The Batman is an elseworld story and not part of the main DCU.

I get a little lost around the part where he says he did something to create a universe without Metas. I thought he was visiting Earth-89 from the Snyderverse because there were no Metas, no Reverse Flash, so his mum gets to live. Keaton just happens to live there.

But he actually seems to be messing with time in a third universe to make sure this place doesn’t have metas, things go wrong, so then he has to go to Earth-89 to get Keaton’s help? But no, he’s trapped wherever he is so it’s the first one?

He can’t return to the Snyderverse to get help from Affleck, and Pattinson is just off in some other Earth just as Bale, West and Conroy are.

But does that mean a Supergirl and a Zod have been trapped on Keaton’s Earth the whole time?

And Ezra is ultimately still a tourist from the Snyderverse. The new DCU Batman hasn’t been cast yet.

So where does Shazam! Fury of the Gods fit in?  Cos that's still under the old DCEU, right?

So, Burton Batman and Snyder Batman are in different universes in the same multiverse, but The Batman and James Gunn’s Batman are in different universes that are in either also in different multiverses or are in universes where the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics is strictly true.

Gotcha.

There's a handy infographic on Reddit.

And you should try and keep the main DC comic continuity straight in your head for shits and giggles.

It's even worse.

Affleck and Keaton are done after Flash

Then we get a new Batman for Gunn's movie

With a seperate elseworlds version featuring Patterson.

Simple.

If Barry travels back to save his mum he inadvertently creates a new timeline (BTTF2 style) where things have gone wrong so when he returns Keatons batman has replaced Affleks (as they should be different people). What I'm not sure of is why Kara would be the Kryptonian on earth, as Clark would surely already be a boy in Smallville by the time Barry changed everything.

I heard over the weekend that Christian Bale may be coming back as Batman, and that supposedly they're editing The Flash right now to downplay Keaton's Batman at the end but imply Bale's Batman might be back.

God knows if that is true but I saw two articles that said the above.
