So, that's Season 1 finished.  Wow, that last episode was a wild one!!  Surely this story is in the same Universe as Aliens and Prometheus?  Or is Ridley Scott unable to think up new ideas?

Loved it overall.  But its all a bit mental.  And Im sure lots of it is quite rightly open to criticism.   Looking forward to openly discussing what was shown when more people have watched episode 10

That was a very strange ending but I was into it.

Spoiler

The strangest thing was the way the three adults just let the children explore that spooky forest and those spooky caves on their own!

All the 'pregnant with a flying-robot-snake-baby' stuff was ridic. And they didn't really solve any of the mysteries, just piled a load more on top - devolving humans? Who got Mother pregnant? What was that helmet in the cave? And then the ship turning up right at the end. But as frustrating as it was I really want to see season 2.

Good interview here with the showrunner who explains some stuff but leaves a lot open.

I watched the first two episodes of this, and based on that alone it’s the best bit of telly SF I’ve seen in as long as I can remember. Pisses over most recent SF films too, I honestly can’t remember seeing anything that has grabbed me as much as this for years.

Brilliant stuff.

Unfortunately it's all downhill from there.

Hmmm, I thought the third episode was great as well!

Even the hokey bits (and they number a fair few) in this are cool, because they’ve managed to wrap everything in such a tight, believable world that you want to know everything about it.

I watched the first episode and it’s absolutely barmy, but in a very good way. Love the old-school sci-fi aesthetic. Couldn’t predict what was going to happen from one minute to the next, and so much happened it was quite a breathless experience.

My source is quite low quality though, I bet it looks excellent in 4K.

It could be - I thought it was the same universe as Blade Runner because of the way Mother acts when she throws out a Roy Batty style wolf howl in the first episode.

Finally had time to sit down and watch Episode 10. Erm, I’m lost for words! Absolutely off the charts crazy. Just when I thought I knew what was coming next... I was wrong.

That last episode didn’t make a a lick of sense. As science fiction I thought the show acquitted itself reasonably well, but the events depicted in the finale were based on magic, surely? Improbable doesn’t even come close.

I guess all will be revealed in the second season? I’ll be there!
