It's a good comparison though because what this really is, is the FA doing something utterly pointless to distract from the fact that they won't actually do anything that'd involve effort.

Same as they managed to turn the effective and powerful initial kneeing gesture into something as routine as the kick off whistle.

I won't be posting. I'm not sure it'll do anything but it's very low effort on my part and hopefully might nudge the powers that be on twitter to actually get involved in sorting these issues out. A weekend off twitter is never a bad thing, too.

Rllmuk is obviously completely different. If you're racist on here you get banned, we do exactly what twitter should.

I’m not expecting sweeping changes but I think you’re being a bit too cynical.

It’s a first step and something unifying a lot of football and wider sport, so that’s a start. Some companies have said they are pulling paid ads from social media this weekend, so it has the effect of hitting these companies in the pocket which is ultimately what will drive change.

Sure, there will be motives that are done in self-interest, but my opinion is it’s better than nothing.

We played well against Leeds yesterday although frustratingly spurned 5 or 6 guilt-edged chances and in the latter stages of the first half, it looked like they were going to get an equaliser. I would really like to finish somewhere around 12th/13th/14th to show at least a bit of progress, but it's a tough ask given we have our traditional 4-0 end of season thrashing by Man City to look forward to.

Really hope we persuade Welbeck to stay for another season. He's been decent for us. Not sure why he didn't get a look in at Watford.

Injured/unfit from about September to February. Looked ok when he played but those occasions were few and far between.

We didn't help ourselves with the rigid reliance on Deeney and the unwillingness to try other tactics - the few times Welbeck did start when fit (Arsenal, Norwich, Newcastle towards the end of the season) we looked a lot less plodding and occasionally played some decent football.

I think everyone agrees that Brighton are way better than their league position suggests. They just need to sign Haaland or Kane for £50 million in the summer and they'll win the league.

@Plissken posted this in the League 1 and below thread. If you think refs and officials are crap in the Premier League, check out Peterborough being awarded a penalty against Lincoln. Peterborough only needed a draw to be promoted as only Lincoln could overtake them. The match was 2-3 at this point.

Man Utd fans have broken into Old Trafford and delayed the start of their game in a protest against the Glazers.

I'm not on a wind up here, but I found it particularly interesting that when the Super League thing happened, most of the fans of the Big Six were outside their grounds protesting against the concept of the Super League and their owners, to varying degrees but definitely against both, but outside Old Trafford every single photograph and comment seemed to be about the Glazers and not the Super League concept.

Glazer was one of the main people behind the "super" league wasnt he!

and we are fucking sick of em dragging the club down, dragging the name though the mud, not investing in the ground, and this is just the latest thing they have done!

I dont agree with breaking into the ground and getting on the pitch tho! thats just stupid! ...

This will change nothing.

Better to try than do nothing at all. At least this lot have taken some action when far too many people have already moved on from the ESL fiasco.

I can’t relate to any of the negativity towards the fans on this occasion. This should be happening at every top 6 club until the current owners fuck off.

“They shouldn’t have broken in”? Yeah these clubs shouldn’t have tried to fuck over the football league.

these protesters aren’t just doing this for  their own clubs. They’re doing it for everyone. Whether they know it or not.

Agreed.
