I'm against PPV as I think it'll just give another advantage to the biggest clubs, Leeds and Villa, and make it harder for everyone else to compete.

I'm assuming you're joking here but I know Leeds would make a mint. Leeds fans are very happy to spend money on this sort of thing. The shirts and merch sells out so quickly, it's crazy.

Yeah, much better game than 1-0 suggests. Makes me wonder why Wolves are doing so badly.

Well, we’ve dropped off a little from last season, but I’ll take mid table as doing badly :)

We've definitely been lucky to take six points from Leeds. But as you say, good game, could have easily been 2-2 or the 1-3 I predicted. We’ve had some great games in recent years.

In lieu of a Wolves fan answering later today, he has had, at best, a very streaky season up until now. Though recently he has picked up a bit of form. When he isn't playing well he can be painful to watch, all that raw physical ability but no end product.

But the gap issue is caused by the big clubs' ability to attracting their large numbers of casual fans and the neutrals, every EPL club has a hardcore fan base that will buy the match if they can't go, but the revenue from the vast amount of additional people who would buy a Liverpool game v West Brom against the amount who would pay for Leeds v West Brom means no matter how spend happy Leeds fans are you are not going to get the same money coming in and the financial gap further widens.

Liverpool played a game in front of 95k in Melbourne.  They’ve got 30m followers on Instagram (Leeds have 640k as a point of comparison)

The reach of the top few clubs is mind boggling and with social media metrics it’s increasingly easy to quantify.  They want a lions share of the pie and they want guarantees of exposure which means they’ll continue to harvest fans.

Doesn't Ronaldo make more off an Instagram product placement post than he does from playing a match for Juve?  I remember seeing something like that.

Might be a bit out of date but good grief.  I bet he never eats KFC.

There's nobody to capitalise on his crosses. That injury to Raul Jimmenez basically means what Traore does isn't finished.

I love watching him run at players. It must be terrifying to see a guy built like a heavyweight boxer run at you with the pace of an Olympic standard sprinter.

There is that too but he still hasn't been as consistent as he was last season. With the kind of ability he possesses he should be able to beat players and adapt what he does from there.

The entire team is struggling with the lack of Jimenez, Silva isn't anywhere near the level and you wouldn't expect him to be either because he is young.

nothing new in talented but flakey/inconsistent wingers, don't see Traore as anything different to the likes of Ruel Fox, Franz Carr, Theo Walcott, Stuart Ripley etc etc etc.

it's why all the 'Liverpool to pay £70m for Traore' talk seemed so odd at the time, he had a few decent games which that type often do, before reverting to type.

it's what makes the really top drawer wingers so exciting, the likes of Robben or Ribery who do it far more consistently over years - and before anybody says 'Robben is a 1 trick pony he just cuts in and shoots' its a damn good trick and meathead defenders were still falling for it at the end of his career.

Forgot the derby was on. Season is a total non-event due to Covid, same as the last one, not proper football, really. Great to see Everton play with a modicum of self-belief for once, though. Feel for Kloppo. Another side he's driven into the ground. The new Mourinho?

Irony is that if this were at Goodison, we'd have lost it comfortably. Our away form has been much more palatable, even if the entire season is a write-off, same as last year. Bloody Covid-19! Hopefully next year we can have a proper Derby.
