I use a pair of Sennheiser HD650's and an Antlion Mod Mic. I'd bet they have better sound quality than any 'gaming' headset.

Sennheiser’s are pretty much all I’ve used when it comes to PC. Love ‘em.

Any recommendations...

As suggested, unless you're going to be spending a lot of money, your best bet is to get a decent pair of stereo headphones than a gamerz headset. If you play online and want a mic for voice chat then you can get detachable ones which will likely be a lot better than any you'll find in a headset. If you're going to be using the PC to listen to music through headphones, or if you want a bit more oomph while gaming, it's worthwhile to invest in a DAC/AMP, too.

As for the headphones you chose, speaking for myself, comfort is the biggest consideration, even over and above sound quality - you want something that isn't going to start hurting your head after long sessions, especially if, like me, you have a fat head. I use Philips Fidelio X2s, which sound great and are pretty comfortable, but if I'm sitting down for a 2 hour+ session then I'll use my Hyper X Cloud Revolver S headset, as it's super comfy, although it's not as good for music as the X2s. Either way, I drive them with a Fiio K3 DAC/AMP, which makes a very big noise for such a small box. I only wish it was a bit heavier so it didn't move when the headphone cable tugs on it.

I'm running Monster Hunter World and while it's at 60s There's no option for DLSS, I thought that was standard on my card?

Also I can't seem to use my Xbox 360 pad in-game, even though I can press A to skip the loading screens.

Oh, sorry - I didn't mean to stand in the way of any deal. Hope I didn't. Your games will be better, I am sure.

DLSS is not in every game - devs have to implement it. You will not find it on games pre 2019 to my knowledge

DLSS 2.0 is what you would want anyway and to my knowledge it is in less than 20 games right now but it should become standard in any big release going forward.

It's in the Monster Hunter graphics options, that's why I mentioned it.

Sorry it shows NVIDIA DLSS off in the options but there seems no way to turn it on.

What resolution are you running at? Unless they've changed it I thought you needed to change your resolution to 1440p for it to work?

edit...scratch that. It should work at lower resolutions too.

To be fair, I can’t say I’ve used it much!

Just reading more about it, some games don’t all use the thing in the same way, so might not be functional in Monster Hunter with your card?

Typical :P
Having more issues now. Set up games pass using my Xbox Live account details, but I can't sign in on my computer as it's asking for a pin I don't have.

Bloody PCs :P

all this optimisation nonsense is reminding me why I keep going back to consoles :P

I've downloaded deadspace 3. Geforce is suggesting silly settings and it's struggling to hit a consistent 30!

It's always hitting a constant 30, just with fuck-awful frame-pacing. NO idea why EA decided that was a good idea. Disable in-game vsync and force it through Nvidia control panel. EZ 60fps.

I believe that uses DLSS 1.something. Don't bother. Nasty as fuck.

If it makes you feel any better I can send you a steam key for a game you hopefully don't have? PM me! I just sent two to Gwangi to help him get his steam library going

Loving this thread and those with the new pcs! All my bits for my build have arrived now so I'm hoping to set it all up Thursday or Friday this week when I'm on earlies at work.

One question- is there an easy way to migrate my steam library from my old pc to my new one without redownloading everything, or losing my saves at least?
