It's what you need. They always update drivers when a new game comes out, but in general they'll be standard drivers for everything.

Popping heads with M+K is a complete revelation compared to joypad. Enjoy.

Isn't it just? I've been a Pc gamer for decades, still playing Unreal Tournament 99 online.

Recently I've been playing x360 games and cant believe how compromised they are compared to PC when it comes to controls. There is something elegant about the flow and accuracy of a keyboard and mouse combo over the 'where am I aiming' randomness I experience on gamepads. For me, game pads are perfect in the 8 and 16bit era but as soon as 3d became prevalent they are a poor excuse needing assistance like auto aim.

Makes me laugh that some PC gamers actually use joypads instead of M&K. Bit like having a bicycle and pushing it everywhere.

Downloaded it, still runs at absolute shit. It's running worse than my six year old PC when I did a benchmark. Excitement quickly diluting. Back to work.

I'm assuming I should simply have Vsynch on right?

If you don't have a gsync compatible monitor, definitely - although that'll cap your framerates to whatever the hertz is of your screen. But, definitely on if you find screen tearing an abomination!

Yeah I'm not a fan of tearing so I'll turn it on and make do with 60fps for time being.

I need to get a new monitor but I can't decide whether to go for 1440p of 4k. 1440p sounds like the better option.

Apparently not, after doing a quick google. Weird, considering the age of the game - though I had trouble maxing out Watch Dogs 2 on the same card (I put that down to it maybe never being optimised for Ryzen CPUs though).

all this optimisation nonsense is reminding me why I keep going back to consoles :P

I've downloaded deadspace 3. Geforce is suggesting silly settings and it's struggling to hit a consistent 30!

Yes, unplug it from that HDMI port (which is the motherboard) and connect it to a port on the graphics card. This should be located further down the case.

I’d also try and pick up a digital cable to use...especially if you buy a nice new monitor and want to zoom about at stupid refresh levels!

Oh, and keep the big cardboard box that the thing was delivered in, because now you’ve started down the rabbit hole, you’ll need to sell the house in order to fund the habit.
