I fucking told you.  Did I not fucking tell you?  You were all 'Wind, it's going to be so shit, you're always wrong about everything', a few posts ago.  Well egg on your face, Bennett. Game announcement of the decade.

On a scale of one to the front entrance of Debenhams, how lousy with cosmetics do you think this will be?

its EA - do you really need to ask that question - wait to you see all the cool kids and there pimped out multi colored ties racing towards you with there dukes of hazzards "space horns" blasting - just be greatful its not rockstar as they bring cosmetics to a whole new levels lol

If I can use my flightstick/throttle with VR in this I think I'll be in even if it IS a bit shit, the experience will make up for it. Oh man, fingers crossed for it to be good though.

 Just last night when I was pished I ordered a second hand copy of SW Battlefront 1 because I fancied another go at piloting an X-Wing in VR, having punted my own copy of the game last year. I could have just waited a matter of hours for this announcement. In.

up for pre-order on steam but no mention of vr on it though -hopefully jutst hasnt been added to the page yet

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1222730/STAR_WARS_Squadrons/

The EA page has more detail - PC VR is 100% happening:

https://www.ea.com/games/starwars/squadrons/overview/pc-system-requirements

and from the preorder bonuses page we get to know what at least 8 of the playable ship types are:

Phew :-). Wonder if this will be on the oculus store or just via steam

cool to see some of the ships available - now let’s hope for a b-wing as well (loved my b-wing toy as a kid)

Give. Me. A. Motherfucking. TIE. Defender.   [Edit: dammit Benny]

(also an assault gunboat, for when I really want to get demolished by every other starfighter)

I'm extremely wary of this given the team's pedigree and, well, the complete lack of genuinely good modern space combat games, but I have a little bit of hope in me. VR dogfighting should, theoretically, be ace.

Needs more B-Wing!:quote:

Anyway, day one for this.  Unlike others, I enjoyed the campaign in BF2, and the MP Starfighter battles so this looks perfect for me.  And I don’t have to buy a PS5 for it!!:D

Exciting! Hope the single player is good. I can't remember what the reaction to Battlefront 2's single player was like, having never played it myself.

I really liked it.  Most people didn't.

You run around gorgeous levels pew pewing moronic enemies, doing Star Wars.  It doesn't need to be any more than that for me.

Is that Wedge?

(can only assume the Holby City checks have dried up cos Denis Lawson used to be very dismissive of SW)

Edit: My bad, that was just internet bullshit, so yay, Wedge is back!!
