Antstream seem to be licensing and releasing a load of 8-bit homebrew stuff recently. I guess all of the low-hanging fruit from that era had been snapped up by now.

My game Millie & Molly has been on there for a good while now.

Releasing a streamed game is totally different to one on a cart. License wouldn't be the same just because you have the streamed rights doesn't give you the right to sell physical copies in shops.

After 1 month in customs clearance and 8 working days in customs to carrier transport, my Morphcat and Intellivision 2 carts have turned up! Cost me an extra 30 quid in fees - so won't be pre-ordering from Funstock again, I'll have to buy local.

Anyway, I cannot wait until the Evercade Ex comes out, because by god, it's impossible to play Micro Mages on that screen! It reminded me of playing Bubble Bobble on a postage stamp sized screen. It's playable, but what anything is, in terms of appreciating the art style and configuration of pixels that make up the sprites, is impossible.

I'll have to play it on the VS (or get 50x telescopic lenses inserted in place of my old eyes).

This is a big crossroads for Evercade and I wouldn’t be surprised if we get another one of these with exclusive games next year. If that’s the case I’ll be out.
Built-in games seems against the entire ethos of what Evercade is.

I'd agree but we did get built in games in retro consoles so...

And they know their customers are all about collecting. Surely they don’t expect them to be collecting multiple consoles just to play all the games. Evercade users seem to want to play the games not just own them.

Agreed. You can do this maybe once, but if this is the only way big publishers will get involved you’re going to have a very fragmented userbase.

This is to try and prevent the Namco problem - you can’t get that cart in the USA officially, and it won’t play on the Evercade VS Console because the license was for the handheld only. Capcom obviously weighed up that it wouldn’t eat into Arcade Stadium sales as a one-off.

So this is a special edition of Evercade with Capcom games built it, and there isn't going to be a way to play Capcom games on other versions of the Evercade?

Fair play to them for getting Capcom on board at all though, I know we never could get them to play ball when I was at Antstream.

The Capcom games are built into the Evercade EXP, the new console opening for orders on the 6th of September. (Both the black Limited Edition and the white standard edition). However, according to a post on the official Facebook group they are working on ways to make them playable on the VS console as well.

As an interested bystander to the Evercade I have to say that the absolute masterstroke they pulled at the outset was to standardise the packaging on the games and print consecutive release numbers on the boxes. I reckon plenty of people are like I would be with this and have to have them all. Otherwise, being honest, a lot of these carts are far from essential.

The Konami EXP they are going to announce at Christmas should be brilliant as well. Then of course it's the SNK EXP a few months later. Hopefully Sega after after that. It will be so nice to have a shelf full of identical consoles but with different built-in games.

I think this trick only works once.

Seeing as Evercade have already ruled that out, you are wrong sir.
