Dudley
Yep I've obviously gone mad I wasn't trying to be an ahole at all. I'm literally trying to say I can't hear the difference between the MD and Evercade, which is what I thought we were talking about and people keeping posting about the Amiga. Oh, I see. We've had this conversation before then - there's a compatible, open source Kickstart ROM which has no licensing issue.

I'm absolutely positive they can licence it. Wouldn't it be more a case of they'd need to licence the game and then that specific version of the game or the OS to run it, essentially meaning they need two separate licences which would eat into profits. Possibly. Also, there's the fact that they'd really need to license the WHD drivers to make it a decent end-user experience. Amiga emulation using ADF files is slow and clunky. Particularly for multi disk games, where it requires you to manually switch between files. At the end of the day, I'm pretty sure that the overall reason is just that there are a myriad of ways, both technical and licensing, in which Amiga emulation is a less smooth experience than console emulation, so they decided to go 100 percent console. That makes sense as well. Basically the more things they have to licence the less profit they're going to make. I'll be very surprised if we see a lot of home computer stuff going forward. CovisGod
I have a bit of a dilemma, When I ordered my Purple Evercade it came out of the box with a very small line of missing pixels, it is perfectly playable and most people would be unable to see the line, it’s only visible when the screen is completely black so hasn’t affected my gameplay in any way. Two months ago I reported the problem to Funstock and they said they’d speak to the manufacturer, first they sent me a link to a pixel refresher, than didn’t work, then they asked me to take more pictures and a video which I did, but as I say I already have a standard Evercade so this hasn’t been at the forefront of my mind, A couple of days ago I was searching my emails for something else and came across my email to Funstock, just by chance I emailed and said this has been a couple of months now, a month since you last replied, any update please……And they’ve sent me a new one, being delivered today, and they don’t want a return for the completely playable “Broken” one, So I’m in two minds, on eBay a sealed Purple console is going for around £200, do I stick it straight on there and spend the money on an Evercade Vs, do I keep the new one and sell the “Broken” one on eBay explaining the issue and that it’s perfectly playable, or do I sit here with 3 playable Evercades and keep all 3, What do we think? Camel
Get rid of the broken one. You’ll hate it forever.

Anne Summers
I think the first generation of indie/budget games that came out for Xbox Live when the 360 launched are ripe for inclusion in RG. Geometry Ward and suchlike. That top-down twin stick shooter one etc.

It’s the ultimate console, lots of cool new games And loads of retro ones on live arcade.

The 360 is a massive leap over the PS2. It was the last big leap. Digital storefronts, easy online gaming, hard drive etc. The 360 is just over 16 years old. The Mega Drive was new 16 years before that. If you just look at time then the 360 is as close to the Mega Drive as it is to a PS5 yet makes the MD look unspeakably primitive. The PS5 doesn’t make the 360 look primitive.

Graphics have not moved on THAT much in 16 years. Not enough to fundamentally change game experiences. The 360 is in a different universe to the MD and the game experiences that provides.
