Key Features

A procedurally generated adventure. The entire kingdom changes with every life, so no two runs are the same.

Rogue-lite. Build your manor, improve your legacy, and make each child stronger than the last. The game can be beaten at level 1, but that doesn’t mean it has to.

Universal Healthcare. Every child is unique. Some might have Synethesia, others might be a pacifist, and some could just be a little chubby. Through the powers of Socialism, traits which have more debilitating effects on gameplay now give gold bonuses!

Castle Permanence. It’s a rogue-like where bosses stay dead.

Every class (and there’s a lot!) now have their own unique set of armaments. Take down foes from afar with your bow as the nimble Ranger, or get up and close with the massive Battleaxe as the Barbarian.

Stack Runes. Runes can now stack to infinity. It’ll take a while, but if you wanted to have penta jump, and lifesteal, and hyperspeed you can!

And there’s a whole lot more. But we’re working on it, and we’d still like to keep a few secrets in our back pocket.

I enjoyed Rogue Legacy, but I like my roguelikes with less persistence between runs. It seems like it's balanced for you to fail in early runs, whereas i can load up a new file on Enter the Gungeon or Binding of Isaac and complete a run.

This is bloody excellent.

I found the first one tough to get into, but its charms shone after extended play. This however, is just a delight from the start.

So many secrets, humour...clever weapons and traits, the risk and reward is finely balanced.  Can see all chests?  OK, but you have 20% less health.  Don't know what that new 'Vertigo' trait is on your new spawn but it sounds cool?  Well, beware!

I died after about 20 seconds.

Ultrawide support too.

I do like the updated elements compared to the first, but ironically, I would've liked less Metroivania style locks. I felt that was a fun part of the first was just being able to go anywhere from the get-go.

Pogo on a button is divine btw.

OMG!! I pop on here and see a thread titled "Rogue Legacy 2 Announced", think to myself, wow that's great news (I played the fist one to death on my Vita), I then take a look at the thread and I'm all sorts of holy moly / heavens above....it's out...yesterday:omg:!

I've already got a pretty cool B/H weekend lined up but this really is the icing on the cake and will be getting played every minute that I get spare :D!!

Are you a Smart member there?

Re: RL2 - I’m loving this. Super addictive. Finally did the first boss at level 47. The constant redoing of the first world is getting a bit tiresome now but I can whip through it so not too bad.

So this is a cracking game. But boy is it tough.

L51 my Estate is now and I still haven't managed to beat the first boss.

Not sure which is my fave class but I really struggle with ranger or mage.

Do like the chef. Any tips?

House Rule it. There's options somewhere make it easier.

Edit: to expand: I was watching my OH play it and there's all sorts of toggles and options that make the game easier.

Edit edit: I'm really not expanding on anything there  am I? Sorry.

I had success with duelist on tbe first boss due to their invulnerable roll.

I managed the second boss first time with knight but think I was over powered by that point (as I had a lot of tries on the first boss).

I've now put a bit more time. Done stuff that allows further progress to happen a lot quicker and boy does the platforming get as good as the combat.

V V impressed with this.  And well worth a purchase.
