Death Stranding is a great freebie, thanks Epic!

A shame the website has shit itself and I can't log in, but hey. I'll try it again later.

Edit: Got it. Just need a new PC now. :D

I don't know if you don't have a PC or just a rubbish one but it works on my potato of a rig. I've got an i5 something and Mobo from over a decade ago with a 970 and 16gb and it runs pretty good.

Any ideas about the next clue? A fist with bunny ears above it...

Edit: the issue with Death Stranding is that it's the standard version that's free, but their link currently takes you to the Definitive one.

Woah, that's exactly what I've got! It's surprising how many games still manage to run ok on it. The fans can make quite a noise, but they probably just need a good vacuuming. Anyway, it's good to hear Death Stranding works ok (if I can manage to get it ok it's in the bag).

Same here. GTX 960 and an i5 in the tower. Haven't turned the thing on in months (got other systems to hand) but it did run stuff alright. Apart from RDR2. That was totally balls. Playing most things on a GTX 1050M which is supposed to be way under compared to benchmarks.

Edit: I thought the 970 bottlenecked on an i5? You lot sure it's not an i7?

Yeah, it was showing as Director's Cut for me earlier but wouldn't load the page, so I guess that was when they were correcting it and now it is just the base edition.

I wonder if they'll change it (either remove the DC or give it to everybody)?

Ooh, I actually have more RAM than I thought. Nice. But yeah, the CPU is a relic. It may well be a bottleneck, I wouldn't know.

Is anyone getting this weirdness? I think it might be the result of them doing the sudden switcheroo. I'm not sure what it means by 2 ADD-ONS and clicking it gives me an installation failed.

OMG Death Stranding! Epic were saving up for this one

I was wondering how tf do they afford it? I read the budget for Death Stranding was *only 10 million. it’s approaching the precipice of a AAA game in terms of expectation. Then again, 7 years after MGS4 I really dunno what sort of numbers MGSV did.

I think the cost would be a lot lower than you'd think.  Its a 4 year old game on ps4 and 18 months on pc?  It's been on game pass for like a year and on all the ps plus stuff for ages.  Most people who wanted to play it would have bought it in some sale.

Epic probably shop the free stuff about to see what deals are offered.  Sony offer the base edition for a decent price to epic with a view to getting people on it and then they maybe get the dlc/ definitive edition afterwards.

So was the director's cut version of Death Stranding offered by mistake, because that's what I managed to nab?

And what was added to the DC version, out of interest? (No spoilers, I haven't played it.)

Yeah, pretty sure the DC was a mistake.

Definitely not an i7. I just keep inheriting GPUs off a friend so I've no idea about compatibility. I just keep slamming them into my crusty, aging motherboard and hope for the best.
