I know that but this is A FF game and a game that Nintendo need to sell lots of copies but CC is not it im afraid, FFX-2 on the PS2 is so much better

How would you know unless you've played CC with 4-players?

Better 1-player game, yes. Maybe they (Nintendo) do need that to sell, but I've never really considered Crystal Chronicals to be a 'big seller' anyway... I don't know why, it just never seemed like it would be. *shrug*

That maybe but what is the point of developing a game only a minor few will get to play properly??

Its a waste of such a big franchise

What about FF XI? That's pretty much online only, right? Won't that alienate a lot of the fans, too?

Saying that, CC doesn't really interest me. Maybe if I saw it cheap.

I suppose but im sure people understand that FFXI is an online only game.

I know lots of people who expect FF:CC to be a great RPG

The only thing that slightly riles me about the whole thing is that I get the feeling Nintendo have decided to put the 4-player GBA connectiivity in for the sake of it when, by all accounts, they could have got away with requiring less. Nintendo are bankrolling the operation, so I guess if they want a showcase for connectivity that's what it'll be, regardless of what branding is stuck on top.

Mostly I'm just bitter that I'll never be able to play it properly: the logistics of getting everything together outweighs the time we'd have to play it.

It doesn't even need to be four players. Two-player is very nearly as good.

Not at all. The seperate screens are pretty much required for some aspects of the game. It's not just something bolted on, it's designed around it.

Quite a few, really, given the number of GBAs sold in this country.

No not this again, you even copied the last person's punctuation and sentence structure. I can't be bothered to reply again, no most people won't be able to play it multiplayer

I disagree <_<

I bet you that the majority of people who buy the game will play it in multi-player mode at one point or another. Just because you can't/won't, don't believe that nobody else can/will.

Isn't that pretty much a given anyway? I mean, if people are buying it, it's because they'll (mostly) be playing it in multiplayer. I think the comment was that not many people will play it at all because of the lack of GBAs/cables/friends/time, etc. (Or, you know, there'll be a lot of disappointed kiddies, come release day.)

Ahh OK.

Yeah, sure it will reduce sales. But then, at least they are trying something different you know. At least they are giving it a go - I think it's harsh for people to slam the game because of the multi-player slant, when it's the very core idea that the game was developed around.

Would the game have received less criticism if they had just left the single-player stuff out totally do you think?

Yes, I agree.

And (though I haven't played it) I think it will be a fantastic game that very few people will be able to experience properly. A double-edged sword, perhaps. Catch-twenty-two, kinda thing. Erm... yup!

Less criticism, yes. More complaints though, perhaps. <_<

Are you sure that person wasn't me?

If you want to play it multiplayer, bring your GBA round to mine. BONUS.

Got this game yesterday (thank you free 1 day shipping) and last night and played it for an hour with my girlfriend. Yes we have 2 GBAs (I bought her one for her birthday a while back so we could play Zelda:Four Swords). It's alot of fun 2 player I have to admit, the whole "who holds the bucket" thing is pretty funny and had us bickering, but it looks to me like a nice fun RPG that both of us can play at once, rather than something where the other person isn't involved and has to do something else when one of us hogs the TV.

I can't believe people are still pissed off about the GBA thing, its not like they haven't said that this will be how the game works for the last 12 months. Then it came out in Japan needing GBAs and people were saying "maybe they'll fix that for the US release", which of course they didn't. Now we have people hoping it'll be fixed before it's released in Europe. NEWSFLASH: You need GBAs to play this game multiplayer in Europe too.

Learn to live with it, if you don't have mates with GBAs or at least 2 GBAs don't bother playing this game, and stop coming here moaning about the GBA requirements because after 12 months of listening to it I'm sick and tired of it.
