Damn, so it’s not necessarily all that lucrative, then??

It’s crazy to me when stuff like Zombicide or Frosthaven makes actual millions on Kickstarter.

When you get that high it is, but at the lower end your fighting economies of scale and fixed marketing costs. A lot of crowdfunded games don't see a profit, even if they fund, mainly because shipping and postage now take significant chunks out of everything and margins are squeezed. At the upper end there's a general expectation to pay over $100 then another $30 I shipping, even though that wouldn't stand lower down.

I've often wondered this and since you're the only person I know who has ever done a kickstarter I shall ask you: let's say you put a target of £7k, with stretch goals up to £12k, like you did, and then you make £30k+...do you just get to keep all the extra money?

Kickstarter is uncapped - whatever someone is able to raise they then collect, which sometimes works well and is sometimes problematic - e.g. if it nets someone an order of magnitude more commitments than they were expecting.

There's nothing in the Kickstarter platform to support stretch goals - they're just milestones made up by the project creators, mostly on the hoof, to persuade backers to share the projects.

@therearerules What's the reason you went back to Kickstarter for this? Would you have gone for Gamefound if it wasn't for the backers on the previous?

Because that's where the base game funded, so that's where most backers already are for the expansion. If Damask did above expectations on Gamefound I might have stayed there, but there's still an issue of taking previous backers with you. I know, from experience, that once you've backed something by a creator KS hastles you when they launch their next thing, so hopefully I can benefit from that.

And we are live! A massive thanks to any support people can give, I know it's a tough time at the moment so honestly just helping to share and get the word out is massively appreciated.

Reminder that the K in the corner is the one that actually takes you to the Kickstarter page!

Backed. Good luck with the campaign, TAR!

Thanks! Still have no idea how it's doing. Obviously on a $/hr basis it's great, but in the last Die of the Dead campaign everything after the first day was 1/8th of that first day, and that was funding in the first 12 hours. I'm pricing much more sensibly, just crossing my fingers that's enough to fund!

I'm an idiot so the postage pricing confused me a little. Is it £5 each for the expansions if you get both?
