to repeat:

Just download Hitman 3 and the multiple 10MB access passes. ~80GB or so all in.

I've tried this several times and it just doesn't work for everybody.  The Hitman GOTY access pass is in the store, it says I own it but when I click on the MANAGE button to install it, I get nothing.

I've fully restarted the console several times.   I've downloaded all of H1, H2 and H3 several times.  I've tried adding the pass to my downloads queue from the web browser and still nothing.

It seems that the fixes/workarounds just don't work for some people.  My progress has copied over without issue so I can see my completions and mastery level on H1.  I just can't access the levels from within H3.

I seem to have the base Hitman 1 and Sapienza in my Xbox library, so thought I'd give it a go. The base Xbox One version has an option to unlock the framerate, so it runs at 60fps on Series S, which is a really nice surprise. I'm enjoying it, so may well pick up H3.

Same here I've tried all sorts and no dice. I got so fed up with it earlier I've requested a refund from Microsoft.

The hitman 1 GOTY Access pass isn't available on the store on your console. You will find it if you look for it in the microsoft store on a PC. You then install it and choose which console to install it on from your PC. It should then appear in the download queue on your console.

Yep.  Done that and still nothing.  In other odd news when I click on the H3 tile on my Xbox it takes me to the store, says I own it and lets me download it.

If, however,  I go to the store and search for H3 it just shows the Standard and Deluxe versions available to purchase.

It looks to me like something has got very fucked up in the database at Microsoft's end.

Just bought this on the PC - Epic Game Store. Anyone else having issues with the mouse control in the menus? It keeps snapping to the centre of the screen.

EDIT: I worked it out, I still had my Flightstick and HOTAS connected and it was trying to use that!

If you've only got access to Hitman 3, level 15 Mastery on Dubai should get you a sniper rifle.

If you've got access to the other games' levels, it's a bit easier: level 5 Mastery on either Paris or Miami should get you what you need.

Superb man, thank you. I have the lot so will be putting some time into Paris and Miami tonight :)

In Hitman 2 there was an Escalation on Marrakesh that got you the best sniper rifle in the game. Not sure if that Escalation is in H3 yet though.

The Cheveyo Calibration, and it appears to be.

Does anyone here actually ever use guns in Hitman?

I mean, Miami in particular deserves at least one sniper playthrough. And I'm very much looking forward to ransacking the hunting cabinet at some point in Dartmoor.

Started a Dartmoor run tonight and I’m (non) lethal with a pool ball.

Throwing things at people’s noggins and watching them fold is, and will always be, an unbridled joy.

In 1 and 2 I rarely used guns apart from when I was specifically planning a mission around a sniper rifle. But I’ve somehow become really fucking good with pistol headshots and so can clear a room of 4 enemies with headshots before any of them can react. 4 is my limit and even then I need them to be fairly well positioned for it to work. Plus as mentioned above the double tap execution with the pistols is too enjoyable not to use a every now and again.

Sniper only, or a single silenced pistol shot to the head, such is tradition.

This is the weapon of a Hitman. Not as clumsy or random as a pistol. An elegant weapon, for a more civilized age.

I’ve played a good bit of Paris before and had a nice enough time with it, but Sapienza is a lot more fun. I did it the bog standard way (PI, cook, increase temp), which was fun, but I’m really looking forward to exploring that level more.

The HDR seems a bit off, though. Even on max settings, there’s a big difference between the two white calibration images that are supposed to look the same. Still looks nice enough, though - it’s the 60fps that makes a bigger difference than any worries I have about the resolution, I think.

You mentioned the Series S version compared to the Xbox One one, and I've made a similar leap this week (originally had 1 and 2 on the PS4, bought 3 and on the S).

I mentioned it before but loading is ridiculously quick. Retrying is painless now and you can really experiment and throw caution to the wind. The frame rate helps too, though I have always found it quite a solid game in terms of performance and visuals. The problem with the unlocked frame rate on my base PS4 wasn't so much the variation in frames per second, but that it would make the console sound like it was attempting vertical takeoff. The S is, predictably, silent.

There's an escalation in Miami that tasks you with knocking out various joggers by hitting them in the head with drinks cans. It's not particularly difficult, but it had me giggling all the way through. Next time I'm out for a quiet walk and some Covid-laden jogger comes huffing into view, I know what I'll be doing.

So finished the final mission last night: actually kinda enjoyed it in a 'change of pace' sort of way.

Apart from:

Spoiler

the bullet-soak guards near the end - always a jarringly cheap tactic to increase the difficulty, but stands out badly in this franchise.

Not very Hitman, but the last mission does give me hope that IOI could actually do a good job with the Bond licence - more of this in that game could be pretty tasty....

Really? I thought that was excellent as it really felt like the end of John Wick 3 but just on a train :) also loved the switch in focus and play style as you progressed.

I use guns all the time. There's nothing quite like a minor skirmish on a hallway, then calmly walking off before panic spreads. The hit sounds seem to be particularly satisfying in this one.

I did an assassination opportunity last night in Dubai that exemplified what I love most about Hitman, and why I don't look at the Challenges or Mission Stories:

Spoiler

It was the 'sabotage the parachutes' one. It's clear that you need to get the targets to jump off the building, but you have to work out how to actually manipulate them into doing it. So, you get the keycards and trigger the evacuation, but their first escape route is via the helicopter. Fine, so I'll take out the pilot so there is no-one to fly them to safety. I did that, feeling pretty confident that it'd work but not really knowing. Once I triggered the evac, I tailed the fleeing targets, watching them through a window from above as they arrived at the helipad, looked around confused, then discussed their backup plan. Then I watched them get their skydiving gear on and joined the escort team, jogging to the outdoor bit and watching them hilariously jump to their doom. It's such a funny and macabre hit, but the real beauty was figuring out all the steps to make it happen and watching the AI dance to your tune.

Yeah, I think I need to go back and do more after all the missions stories and (having already done it once) without the pressure of trying to get silent assassin.  I think I'm swayed by trying to get scores when I should just be trying to get challenges, a good assassination is one you can walk away from.

Some of the mission stories in this feel so much like canon, which I know sounds odd in the context of a Hitman game, that I almost can't imagine how these levels will play out again when I do something completely different. It feels like there is one playthrough of each level which IO definitely want you to experience first if they can. This is kind of obvious across all the levels but especially so in Mendoza.

To avoid spoilers, I'll just say I did the 'tour' story and from a narrative perspective it fed so perfectly into the main story that I don't really understand how it could have ended up at the same point if I'd just, say, run in, popped a couple of bullets in the targets' head and then ran off. Very interested to see how some of these levels pan out on replays.
